"Come ON Harry!" Hermione calls from downstairs. "We CANNOT be late for the train!"

"I'm coming!"Harry yelled back, already annoyed with her, and they hadn't even gotten on the train yet. He grabbed his trunk and dragged it downstairs, where Molly shrunk it for him.

"Now this year, we're apparating to King's Cross, so hold on to my arm Harry," she told him, and now that Harry knew what was going on, he could detect barely veiled disgust in her voice. He was shocked he didn't realize this before now. It had been almost 5 years for Merlin's sake, how did he not notice this before?

The telltale crack of apparition brought him out of his thoughts, and as they landed, he nearly fell over.

"Still not good at apparition mate?" Ron dumbly asked.

I got up and shot him a look that said 'does it look like it?'. I tried to walk over to the train, but Molly pulled me into the most ridiculous hug, all while telling me that this year was going to be great and that maybe, I'd find a girlfriend. Probably just trying to get that love potion to work. Little do they know, I'm gay, so that will NEVER happen.

Finally, after like ten minutes of Molly saying goodbye and Hermione being picky about our compartment, we were on the train and it was leaving the station. Our trunks were unshrunk and on the racks. I hear the train squeaking as it leaves the station and heave a barely-audible sigh. Then Hermione starts talking.

"SO, this year you two are going to pay more attention to your schoolwork, of course. Harry must prepare to defeat You-Know-Who and Ronald, you need to pass these classes to be an Auror." Hermione ordered, as if she had any say in what I did or didn't do, I mean, I was going to spend more time on my work this year, but not with her.  This set Ron off and the two started arguing like they do EVERY year.

I just grabbed a book on Arithmancy out of my trunk, leaned against the window, and tried to block out the yelling in the background. I had decided I wanted to change my electives since Arithmancy and Ancient Runes would be more valuable subjects that Care and Divination. I had owled Professor McGonagall a couple of days after the meeting and she told me that if I passed a test on the third and fourth year material for the two classes, I could join the other fifth years, so I would be taking that the next day. They had pushed back the start of classes a day, something about a leak in the dungeons that they had to fix. It worked out for me though. I ended up finding the two classes much more interesting than my old electives, which was just a bonus. I was starting to get really into the book when our compartment door was slammed open, successfully shutting up Ron and Hermione. Looks like Draco has made his yearly visit.

"Weasel, Mudblood," Draco shot them a dirty look and yanked me into the hall and shut the door. I could hear the two start arguing and try to open the compartment door, keeping up appearances I guess.

"Why can't they open the door?" I asked, and immediately after regretted my question at the look on his face.

"Magic Potter, you go to a school for magic, what else would it be?" He shot back. "Insulting you and your friends was not the reason I came to your compartment this year. I was told by my brother to give you this letter, I don't know exactly what it says, but I have a pretty good idea. Adrien was always the more observant of the two of us. I suggest you listen to the letter, I feel its contents will be most helpful for you."

"Why are you doing this?" I asked.

"Because," He answered. "You might not like me and think I'm mean, but I don't condone fake friends," he started to walk back to the end of the train car, where I saw his brother waiting for him. I opened the letter and skimmed the contents, realizing what it was about.

"Wait!" I called to him. He paused and turned around to face me. "I'm sorry."

"For what?" He questioned.

"For not taking your hand in first year, you were right about them," I motioned to my compartment, where the door had stopped shaking from the two trying to get out.

"Apology accepted," He said. "I am also sorry, for not taking the rejection well and being rude to you."

"It's fine," I said. "Friends?"

"Friends."

He shook my hand, must be a pureblood thing, and walked down to meet his brother, who led him into another train car.

I flipped open the letter again and read the contents. Most of it was already things I had known, my friends using me for money, Dumbledore lying, all that. But something at the very end caught my attention. Adrien had included the suggestion that I get resorted. Apparently, if a student isn't happy in their house, or their house doesn't accept them, they can request a resorting.

That is very interesting. I wonder what Dumbledore would do if I suddenly requested a resorting, Adrien's letter says the Headmaster cannot stop me from getting a resorting, but he might try to delay it. Professor McGonagall would probably push it along if she realized I'm not happy with Gryffindor. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I pushed the compartment door back open and Hermione and Ron looked up and immediately started talking.

"Are you ok Harry, did that Ferret do anything to you?" Hermione fussed. "I can't believe the nerve of him, bursting into a compartment without knocking!" I stifled a laugh, thinking back to first year, where she did the exact same thing looking for Neville's toad. In the background, I heard Ron moaning about "Bloody Ferret and his Death Eater friends". This was going to be a long train ride I thought as I picked my book back up and tried to ignore Hermione and Ron's bickering in the background.

Let's see if they suspect anything yet
