Wake Up The Relentless Ocean

Chapter 13

"Is that all you're gonna eat?" Noah says pointing to my apple.

"Yeah. Why?" I ask.

"You need to eat more than just that."

"Why?"

"You're going to need a lot of energy for today," I just stare at him confused. He rolls his eyes at me, "We are going to start training today, remember."

"Oh yeah we are, but I'm still only gonna eat an apple."

"Fine but don't blame me when you are begging to take a break because you have no energy."

"Whatever." I think to myself. "Besides I don't want you to train me anyways, I want my father to. He has had the sapphire before so he knows what he's doing. With you I am more likely to die." "Ok," I say to him. "Where are we going to train?"

"Glad you asked," he said very proudly. "I found this cave not too far inland while you were sleeping."

"Why a cave? Why can't we just train here?" I ask, while trying to think of a way to sneak off to my dad's house.

"Because we don't know what lives on this island, what if something sees magic being used and comes to attack you? So, if we are in a cave there is less of a chance of you being attacked."

"Ok," I say to him. But think, "Yeah right you said you've been here before so you know what's on this island." "So where is this cave?"

"It's just through some trees this way, come on." he says as he turns and starts walking away. I don't trust him, but to make sure he doesn't catch on to me I follow him through the trees. We walk for a good 5-10 minutes before we reach a cave with vines covering it's entrance. Noah turns back to me and nods his head toward it then moves the vines out of the way and walks in. As the vines move back into their place I debate on whether I should go and tell my dad, but if I do then Noah might follow me and find out what I'm really doing. He can't know that I met the Water Charmer and he definitely can't know that he's my father. If he finds out then he will no longer act like my friend. That's the only thing keeping me safe right now.

"I can't let him know I don't trust him." With that last thought I move the vines and walk into the cave.
