Chapter 3

"So your from the future and already lived through this timeline?" Stefan asks for like the tenth time. Damon nods his head tired as his brother paces through his room.

Zach was currently downstairs in his office as they talked. They went back to the boarding house and went to Stefan's room and Damon ignored a confused and fearful Zach as he saw him walk in with Stefan. It was a funny moment but it was short lived when he had to tell Stefan more about him traveling through time.

"It's only been a couple years that passed from this year. I say about Winter two-thousand thirteen" He watches his brothers eyes widen slightly at this and shock is clear on his face.

"We stayed in town that long?" Stefan questions. Damon nods and it makes his brother look even more shocked.

"I can't tell you too much though without ruining something" The question he's been dreading is brought up and it makes him tense.

"Why'd you travel back in time to save someone? I mean clearly you care for them a lot" Stefan studies his brothers eyes carefully.

Damon sighs and looks into his brothers eyes. "Because they're worth it brother. They changed me for the good and made me happier than i've ever been living these last couple years"

"You must really love her" He realizes it's a girl because his brother wouldn't come back in time to save him. If he did, he wouldn't tell him that he came back in time because then it could ruin the butterfly effect or whatever. This girl though, he wonders who it is.

Damon can tell that his brother wants to know what's so special about this girl. "I do, and it's not Elena....Katherine's look a like"

His eyebrows raise in surprise but he accepts his answer. "How'd she die?"

He tenses and looks down at the ground. The first flashback since he's been back in time arrives and it makes Damon close his eyes.

"Your staring a awful lot" Her lips curl into a teasing smile and she looks at him. Damon smirks and pulls her into his lap.

"That's because your so beautiful I can't look away" Her lips peck his lips and she rolls her eyes playfully.

"Smooth, but something's bothering you. Spill" She pokes him and he looks at her realizing she knows him. Sighing, he shifts her more comfortably as he sits up against his headboard better.

A hand find its way to her hair and he starts to run his fingers through the soft strands. "I just feel like my happiness will be snatched away from me. Like something bad is happening soon" It was in his gut that something was gonna happen and he knew Bonnie will risk her life to save everyone if he's right.

She frowns and cups his face. "I'm supposed to be the one getting these weird feelings. Don't worry about the future right now Damon, think about the present" He nods his head and she pulls his face close. Bonnie captures his lips into a kiss and he kisses her warm lips with passion and hunger.

That was one of the days they spent together about a week or two before she died. He was right to feel that way. The universe was somehow telling him he was gonna lose her and it made him think he ruined everything he touched just like Stefan had said at one time. Was he right? No, Damon shakes his head. He came to protect her this time. She wasn't going to put herself in danger all the time like before. He was gonna make sure no one dragged her down or any of that.

"A devastating accident" Damon stands up and swallows his sadness down. "I should go, it's getting late"

Stefan steps infront of him. "You can stay here if you want" Wow. Last timeline he forced his way into the house. He was already changing things.
