Chapter 4

Bonnie wakes up and smiles at a new day. Last night was fun and she was glad that she watched the comet with Damon. After the comet passed, they talked for a bit and Caroline and Stefan approached them.

Bonnie!" Caroline gets her attention. Bonnie looks surprised to see Caroline and Stefan holding hands as they approach her and Damon. She gives them a smile and feels nervous because she now knew they were brothers.

"Hey Care, Stefan" She notices Stefan seems to be in his own head as he looks between her and his brother and realization struck on his face like he figured something out.

"Damon, I didn't know you knew Bonnie" This makes Caroline perk up.

"Well, I couldn't miss the first comet in years, and we met not too long ago" Damon says easily. His brother gives him a look he knows all too well.

"You know Damon?"

Stefan nods and looks at the blonde. "He's my brother"

Caroline looks at Bonnie wide eyed and she glances at Damon. She looks shocked and looks back at Bonnie noticing good genes run in the family. "You never said you had a brother"

He suddenly remembers he never brought him up. That's weird how even though Damon said his relationship was tense with Stefan, she remembers he still told her he had a brother before.

"We aren't close. I only saw him once since he's been in town and I didn't even know he was coming back" Stefan sounds honest and it makes both girls look at the brothers.

"So, you guys have fun so far?"  Bonnie tried to change the subject.

"Yeah we were gonna get a bite to eat but then I saw you" Caroline says smiling and being cheery again.

Bonnie looks up at Damon. "Would you mind eating with Caroline and Stefan?"

He knew that look all too well. Looking between her and Stefan, he thinks. Does he wanna go on a double date with his brother? Does he even wanna be near his brother now that he probably realized he came back to save Bonnie? No.

"Actually-" He pulls her away a few feet away where Blondie can't hear, but his brother can. "I don't think it's time to sit down with my brother and his new girlfriend after not talking for years"

Bonnie looks sad at his answer but understanding at the same time. "It's fine. Maybe next time" She offers.

He kisses her temple and rubs her arm. "Next time. I'll go ahead and let you hangout with your friends, i'm sure Elena is probably looking for you anyways"

Suddenly she remembers about the brunette. "Right, we're all supposed to be at the grill by now. I'll see you tomorrow, Damon"

Disappointment fills him at her not saying she'll be his midnight visitor, but he nods and accepts it anyways. "Night, Bonnie"

The rest of the night was normal but something was wrong with Elena. She was quiet as Caroline carried most of the conversation and it made Bonnie worry for her friend. Today she'll try and talk to her at school to figure out what's going on with her. With that in mind she heads to her bathroom to get ready for school.

"I just- is it bad that I feel like i'm changing?" Elena asks looking down at her best friend.

Bonnie looks at her and shakes her head. "It's never always bad that your changing, Elena. We're teenagers so ofcourse we're becoming different people"
