crying out for me

Chapter 7

"Bonnie are you good? You've been out of it all day" Caroline says capturing the zoned out witch's attention. Bonnie opens her mouth but closes it again before frowning.

Everything was wrong. She was kissed by her best friend and now avoiding her, vampires were in town, her dad was in town for only a week before he left her, and she hasn't seen Damon since he helped her. So yeah, she was just peachy.

Sighing she runs a hand through her wavy hair and honestly feels so stressed and tired. "I'll be alright"

Turning away from Stefan, Caroline faces Bonnie completely at the picnic bench on the field outside school and grabs the noirettes hand. "Bonnie, you can be honest with me. Is it about you know who?"

You know who was Elena. "Kinda, I know it's my fault she's barely coming to school but I can't talk to her right now." She just can't.

"Have you even tried? I mean I know it's freaky for something like this to happen but she can't help how she feels, Bonnie. And that's one of the few times I defend her" Caroline adds making the shorter girl smile a bit.

Stefan silently listens not wanting to interrupt the best friend moment and wonders if Damon talked to Bonnie lately. He's been M.I.A since the night of the kickoff and it has him worried. The elder brother hasn't spoken to Stefan in exactly ten days and it's obvious he isn't residing in his temporary home because Stefan's been down there checking in seeing if he came back, even if it was to spy on Bonnie.

He guesses he hasn't checked on Bonnie because he knows that nothing is to harm her for right now and her life isn't in immediate danger, or he's doing whatever else he could be doing. It is Damon so if it isn't one of the first options it's the box mark with 'other'.

"I don't know" She says softly. Messing with her salad she stabs a tomato ending the conversation. Awkward silence washes over them as they are all lost in their minds. Caroline bites her lip not liking she made Bonnie upset but it she didn't mean too. She may be in the middle with Elena but that was still her childhood best friend too. Or frenemy. The poor mocha skinned teen had her olive skinned best friend in love with her and accidentally may have ruined their friendship. But it's not her fault she doesn't feel the same way.

Elena can't miss school because of that. Plus, she probably had an idea that Bonnie didn't like her...but like Caroline said, she couldn't help her feelings. Glancing at Stefan she notices him studying Bonnie, not in a way that makes her feel jealous, but in a way that has her concerned because he looks really deep in thought and like he knows something.

As soon as she decides to point out he's lost in thought too, the bell rings loud enough for them to head and they see kids standing and walking towards the building. Bonnie doesn't move for a second until she feels people movin around her and she scampers to grab all her things. Wordlessly she walks off not sparing the couple a look and Caroline frowns.

"Stefan" She holds eyes with him when he looks at her. "Is your brother still in town?"

"Not that I know of...why?" He questions.

Caroline looks at Bonnie's retreating figure. "Because I have a feeling he hasn't talked to my best friend since the incident at the kickoff."

Entering the large modern gothic home, Stefan drops his bag down in the foyer before getting ready to get a little snack after the long day he had. As soon as he enters the parlor room he stops and moves his grayish hazel eyes around the room. Sensing another presence he moves quick and in a blink has them pinned against the wall.

His grip loosens seeing Damon infront of him and he rolls his eyes. His brother gives him a smirk. "Your strong" In a blink Stefan feels his ass hit the cold floorboards and lets out a small grunt before speeding up and brushing himself off. "But i'm stronger"
