Skyla grabbed Kie by the arm pulling her to the side "hey imma run home real quick to grab a change of clothes" "okay what if they ask?" "Just tell them I don't make something up. Okay?" Skyla smiled at Kie before taking off to her house.

"Where's Sky going?" JJ walked up to Kie "She uh she needed to use the bathroom. Yeah she needed to use the bathroom." JJ not believing a word she said took off after Skyla. "JJ" Kie yelled trying to stop him but it was no use.

Skyla got to her house opening the door "mom?" "Your mom's gone" her dad came around the corner with a beer in his hand "what do you mean she's gone like went to the grocery store gone?" Dave walked closer to Skyla making her backup.

"Did you not listen to a god damn word I said? She's gone she left. She's never coming back and you wanna know what? It's your fucking fault" he slurred on his words.

JJ peeped through the window watching the whole thing happen. "She's not gone. She wouldn't leave me." "Yeah well I didn't think she'd leave me but look what the fuck happened" Dave threw the beer bottle at the wall just missing Skyla. Skyla flinched as she wiped the tears coming down her face.

JJ felt useless not helping her. He felt horrible but he knew from experience that if he barged in it would only make things worse for her. Her dad walked away probably to get another beer from the fridge. JJ watched as Skyla ran upstairs, she got to her room slamming the door sliding down to sit.

She wrapped her arms around her knees and cried for what felt like forever. She got up and changed walking downstairs to see her dad passed out on the couch. She walked out the front door seeing JJ stand there with a sympathetic look on his face. JJ stood outside as he watched the tear stained girl come out looking at him.

"What are you doing here?" Skyla asked still walking "I-I uh followed you here I want-" Skyla stopped in her tracks "you followed me here?" She was angry because she didn't want any of her friends to find out what goes on in her home life. "Yeah I'm sorry but I wanted to see if you were okay. You just took off." "I needed a change of clothes i was coming right back."

"What.. what happened in there?" JJ asked not wanting her to know he saw everything. "Nothing." "Sky." JJ put his hand on her arm trying to comfort her knowing he'd want someone to do the same thing to him. "JJ I'm fine." She moved her arm so he wouldn't touch her. "Clearly you aren't I saw-" "you saw?" She questioned.

"I didn't mean to spy but-" "but what?" "Why didn't you tell us?" "Tell you what exactly that my dad hits me? That my life sucks? That's really not something I would want to tell my friends." "I know what you're going through Sky" "no you don't JJ no you don't" Skyla cried walking away to go meet up with the rest of her friends. "Yeah I do." JJ whispered as she walked away.

John B and JJ helped with the keg while Pope and Skyla carried some red plastic cups. "Did you tell JJ where I was going?" Skyla asked Kie "no I swear I tried to stop him but he wouldn't listen." Skyla nodded believing Kie "hey if you need a place to stay you know you're always welcome at my house." "Thanks Kie it means a lot."

John B pumped some beer from the keg into a cup giving it to Kie, "here Pope" "no. Hell no." "I'll take it" JJ took the cup while John B pumped some in another cup for him and Skyla. "Thanks JB" "no problem."

Skyla chugged the beer holding the cup out for John B to put some more "already damn?" Skyla smiled as she took the cup back. More people began to show up and Skyla could see JJ flirting with the girls. She felt bad for what she said to JJ and how she acted but she didn't want him finding out about her dad and what he did. She thought it would change the way everyone thought about her if they knew.
