The constant patter of something hitting Rin's window slowly tugged her out of sleep, and when she rolled over in bed to check the time, she saw that it was nearing three in the morning. Her brows quickly scrunched together as the annoying tick neglected to cease, and begrudgingly pulled herself out of bed to yank her curtains away.
Her eyes nearly popped out of her head at the sight of Togata beneath her window. He halted in his move to throw another rock, and looked relieved to see her. She ducked away from her window so quick she nearly fell over, and snatched a spare blanket off of her bed to drape over the tank top she was wearing. Once she collected herself enough to steady her breathing, she peeked through the window again, and bit down on her lip to see him still standing there.
He mouthed her name and pointed at her window — which she assumed to be a gesture to open it up. She did so hesitantly, and stuck the upper half of her body out into the cold night air whilst looking about the courtyard. How long had he been throwing rocks at her window?
"Mirio?" She questioned in a high whisper. "Do you know what time it is?"
"Of course I do!" He whisper shouted back. "I've waited long enough to sneak over here!"
"Why would you do that?" Rin deadpanned and slumped a bit.
"You wouldn't return my calls or messages," Togata replied as if it was obvious. "So I came to you."
"How did you know which window was mine?" Rin questioned suspiciously.
"Let me in and I'll tell you!" He promised, and clasped his hands together; begging.
"Mirio..."
"C'mon, Rin!" He plead. "Please?"
Rin chewed contemplatively on the inside of her cheek before finally caving, and held up one finger to motion that he wait while she turned back into her room. She scanned the space until her gaze landed on the jars of sea water on her desk, and decided that that would suffice in bringing him up into her dorm.
She shrugged off the blanket over her shoulders and held her hands up toward the jars. The movement elicited it's contents to push off the jars caps so the water could flow out, and she bended it downward and out the window whilst steadily supplying her own water supply to the mass in order to densify the water. She morphed it into a makeshift ladder, and nodded to signify that it was safe to climb.
Togata grinned and scurried up the ladder in record time. He crawled his way through her window as quietly as possible, and patiently waited for Rin to draw back in her water supply.
He shut the window for her as she sent the sea water back to the jars, and smiled to himself as she shyly snatched the blanket off the floor to wrap it around herself.
"Alright," she whispered. "I let you in. How did you know which window was mine?"
"I flagged down your friend Mina," he looked proud of himself. Rin frowned. "Earlier tonight, when she was taking some garbage out!"
"I should have known..." Rin muttered and crossed her arms.
"But I came here to talk about something," Togata continued. "I —"
