Several minutes passed before the commotion of Chisaki vs Togata could be heard from the opposing side of the wall Nighteye, Rin, Deku, and Aizawa hastened toward.

Rin's heart pounded ceaselessly in her chest, and when Deku bolted forward to smash the wall down, Rin was the first one to climb through the debris to get to the other side.

Her orange eyes flew up to see Togata. His body looked mangled, his costume was torn in several different places, hair astray, and blood covered his abdomen. It felt as if her heart stopped at the sight of him, and as everyone else filed into the space in which they were fighting, Rin's enraged eyes flew toward Eri, and finally stopped on Chisaki. She saw that he had already been staring at her.

When Deku flew through the air and struck Chisaki, Rin took that opening to get to Eri and Togata. She caught him just before his weak body could hit the floor, and cradled his cheek in her hand as she looked him over.

"R-Rin..." Togata said through weak breaths. He sounded relieved to see her. "Y-you're okay... is Eri...?"

Rin jerked her head to the side to see the small girl still huddled in the remains of Togata's cape. Aside from being fear stricken, she seemed fine.

"She's okay," Rin confirmed and held her arm out to her. "Here, Eri. I can keep you safe."

Eri hesitated upon Rin's beckon, and looked over to where Chisaki had slid across the floor after being punched by Deku.

"He can't hurt you," Rin called to her again. Eri jumped. "Not while we're here, not in the state he's in."

"I-it's okay, Eri," Togata said. He cradled his bloody side. "You remember Rin, d-don't you?"

Eri looked between them for a moment before standing on wobbly knees and scurrying into Rin's open arms. Her entire body trembled against Rin's side when Eri latched onto her, and finally Rin looked back to Togata to see that he had already been looking at her. His eyes were hazy.

"You giant idiot..." she mumbled as she studied his face. She rose a hand to wipe the dried blood off of his cheek. "What were you thinking? You said we were in this together!"

"I know..." Togata coughed, and specks of blood fell from his lips. "W-we are... but that doesn't m-mean I'll stop protecting you, t-too."

"I don't need protecting, Mirio," Rin said densely, and Togata flinched. "I've done things like this millions of times —"

"That's just it!" Togata interrupted her and broke into a fit of coughs. "You've done this before, and you shouldn't e-ever be exposed to it a-again. I wouldn't be a-able to live with myself if something happened t-to you."

"Lemillion, Rin, Eri!" Nighteye called for them as he approached, and caught their huddled forms in his arms. "It's fine now... you were amazing... you were amazing, Mirio."

"Sir," Rin looked over her shoulder to catch Nighteye's eye as he broke out of their quick embrace. "Take Lemillion and Eri. I'm going to help Deku and Eraserhead secure Chisaki."

"Rin, no!" Togata objected, but that didn't stop Rin from handing off Eri to Nighteye.

"You've cornered him this far, Mirio," Rin turned to him with a phantom smile. "Let us take care of the rest."

"B-but..." he trailed off when Rin set a hand on his chest.

"Trust me."

Togata's eyes welled with tears, and he did his best to blink them away whilst scooping her small body into his arms.

"If you die... I'll k-kill you." He threatened weakly, and Rin quickly returned his hug before pulling away.

"Lazuli won't fail, Lemillion." Rin promised, and with that, she was dashing off toward Chisaki without giving Togata another opportunity to object.
