"There are more people out there than I thought there'd be!" Uraraka said nervously as she looked passed the curtain from backstage.
"Everyone seems to be in a good mood!" Kaminari looked over her shoulder.
"It's cuz they've been waiting to see us, stupid!" Jiro scolded.
"Deku's still not here yet?!" Uraraka looked worried when she turned to offer Rin a glance, to which she shook her head at. Her phone was clutched tightly in her first, and the slew of messages she had sent to Deku still remained delivered.
"I haven't heard from him, either." Rin reported, crestfallen as she got a peek of the crowd. Her stomach twisted in nervous knots.
"What is that slowpoke doing at a time like this?!" Mineta asked exasperatedly whilst stomping his foot.
"I'm getting nervous..." Rin muttered as she took Mina's hand.
"It'll be okay, Rinny!" She reassured her and squeezed her fingers. "He'll be here, I know it!"
Rin released a weary sigh, and as the clock struck 10 am, the lights on stage went dark, signaling that it was time for class 1-A's performance.
"Fashionably late," Mina quickly added as she chanced Rin a glance. "We can't wait for him! Let's get on stage."
"But —"
"No buts," Mina shushed her quietly as she maneuvered Rin to walk in front of her. "Don't worry about him! It'll be fine."
Rin reluctantly switched her phone off and shoved it into the pocket of her skirt before willingly following under Mina's guiding hands. The crowd that had gathered to watch their concert roared excitedly, and the louder they became in her ears, the more she wanted to run and hide. During the weeks of preparation, Rin had never anticipated to be so overwhelmingly nervous.
"Don't forget to smile, Rinny." Mina whispered as they got into position.
"Sorry I'm late!" The sound of Deku's voice nearly made Rin give herself whiplash with how fast she had turned her head, and smiled in relief to see that Deku was dressed — albeit sweaty — and in position.
"What took you so long?!" Mina called to him.
"I'll explain later." Deku whispered in return, and together class 1-A finally rose their fists in the air as the curtain rose.
"Let's go, damnit! All of U.A.... We'll kill 'em with our sound!" Bakugou roared from his seat behind his drum set, and with his explosion, the music to Jiro's song finally started, and Rin instinctively began moving along to Mina's choreography.
"Thanks for coming today!" Jiro cheered into her microphone. "What am I to be? What is my calling? I gave up giving up, I'm ready to go!"
"Futures left unseen,
It all depends on me,
Put it on the line to follow my dream,
Yeah!""Tried all my life, I've tried to find,
Something that makes me hold on and never let go,
Oh!""Hero too,
I am a Hero too,
My heart is set (my heart is set) and I won't back down,
Hero too,
Strength doesn't make me a Hero,
True Heroes (true Heroes)
Stand up for what they believe,
So wait and see!"As Jiro sang, Deku ran toward centerstage and threw Aoyama up into the air. He spun in a circle whilst releasing lasers, and the crowd went ecstatic as the stage effects continued on.
"What do they think of me?
Who do they think I'll be?
I could not care less, I don't wanna know,
Am I doing right? Am I satisfied?
I wanna live my life like it's meant to be,
Yeah!"
