After unpacking my stuff and staring at the news on the TV, I decided that maybe I should go out and look around. I haven't been here for nearly ten years. There were bound to be things that changed. So I grabbed a few things, shoved them in a bag and headed out of the hotel.

It was about 5 o'clock, and the sky was already dark. The lights inside all the buildings were shining brightly. That's the one thing I liked about cities and what I liked about Bristol. All the lights of the skyscrapers, the shiny cars driving by. To me, it was all so captivating.

While wandering the streets and peering into all the restaurants and bars, I came across somewhere I recognised. A place called the Cavern Club. A place that I remember seeing on the TV once. It was where The Beatles first started. The thought of this filled me with excitement. I marched into the entrance and down some stairs to the main club room. There was a bar at the back of the room, a big stage at the front with a wall behind it, with the signatures of everyone who'd played there. The room was also packed with people. Beatles fans. Music fans. Everyone. The weirdest part was that I felt comforted and not cramped or claustrophobic. Everything was so inviting; there was no one dodgy or scary. They were just people up for a fun time.
Over on the stage was a band playing. They were good. There were three guys and one girl, who was talented. Tlly sounded similar to Arctic Mon, except all were possibly aged between 21 to 23. I thought watching their set would be no harm, so I went to the bar to get a drink.

Behind the bar was a blonde bar girl with puffy lips.

"One rum and diet coke, please, ice, no lemon", I requested.

"Okay, love", she replied, with the strongest scouse accent I've ever heard.

As she gave me my drink, I thought this would be a good chance to ask who this band was. I wanted to listen to more of them.

"So, who's that playing over there? They're good", I asked while paying for my drink.

"They're a local band, Jimmy and the Angry Car or something." She replied, giving me my change and moving on to another customer.

Seeing as the conversation died there, I took my drink and sat down to watch 'Jimmy and the Angry Car' and the rest of their set. Which sadly was only one more song.
" Thanks, guys! We'll sell CDs down by the bar if you've liked what you've heard. We've been Jimmy and the Angry Car. Have a great night," said the lead singer as they finished.

I returned to the bar to order a shot of tequila, seeing as I didn't need to do anywhere the next day. Behind me, I could hear two girls nattering about something as they walked past the bar.

"Oh my god! That was so good!" cried one girl. " I swear Jimmy looked at me!"

"Yeah! But did you see Evan of those drums? Why is he so good at what he does?" squealed the other girl.

As the girls walked away, I peeked my head around to see what was happening with the band, seeing as those girls spoke so highly of whoever Toby and Jimmy were. Down by the left of the stage was the lead singer and bassist singing posters and albums. On the stage, the drummer and the girl guitarist helped to pack up the stage.

Around the signing table was a crowd of mostly girls, all scrambling to get their merchandise signed by the lead singer. The lead singer had curly, dark blonde-ish hair, which came down past jawbones and had a moustache on his lip, making him look like he was from the late 70s. Quite attractive. A charming smile that every girl in the room was mad about.

The band finished packing up, so that was the signal for the boys at the front to wrap up the signing. So I returned to the bar to finish one last drink and watch all the fans disappear after meeting their idols and gleaming about how great their night was. I should leave as well, but not before going to the loo.
