It had been two months since he escaped the confines of King Atharv and he had never felt so free, so alive. Here, deep in the hills of Ujvali, with the people of the Garo tribe, Salil felt happier and more carefree than he had felt in the past year.

"I think you're just coming along fine my dear, Prince. The headaches and nausea should go away in two or three weeks. Anything you wish to ask about?" asked the old healer with a smile on her face.

It was after a week since his great escape when Salil found out that he was with a child, once again. He didn't know what to feel anymore. He was happy but there was an underlying fear of losing his child once again. He knew he couldn't bear to go through the same horrible fate again. This time he was not letting his child come in harm's way. Even if it meant, him spending his life as an ordinary citizen instead of living it like the prince that he is.  He would happily embrace all the hardships that came his way if it ensured the safety of his child.

Salil politely declined the old healer and straightened his robes before he made his way out of the said healer's hut with his loyal bodyguard Rudra right at his tail.

In the beginning, the royal guard had created a huge ruckus about Salil running away from Antharv. Blaming King Samartha for what happened, he challenged the king to a duel. And King Samartha, not wanting to hurt his beloved's pride accepted the challenge. And like Salil had suspected, one to get injured in this battle was his brother. The king didn't lay a single blow on the warrior, accepting all his hits with a smile. The duel stopped when Salil jumped in to help his bleeding brother. The battered and bruised form of his brother made Salil see red. Had Rudra not been his brother's beloved, Salil would've already sliced him into pieces. The injured King was carried to the tribe healer's hut to receive some treatment while Salil ordered Rudra to follow him to his hut.

And then the confrontation happened. After listening to Salil's reasons, Rudra felt like the biggest asshole alive. The guilt of hurting Samartha overwhelmed him. It wasn't wrong for a brother to want to protect his kin.

To atone for his mistakes Royal guard Rudra, became Samartha's attendant, resolute to nurse the injured king back to health. And this event made Samartha smile like a lunatic despite all the pain from the injuries. To him, all the pain and injury were now worth it. But Salil wasn't so benevolent. So let's just say Rudra had great difficulty in earning his forgiveness.

"Salil... I think you should just leave the feast preparations to us and rest for a while. You have been working since the morning. It's not good for the little prince's health." said Rudra as he stirred the pot of curry that had been simmering for a while now, earning a nod of agreement from Madhur who was grinding some aromatics for the stew.

"I think I'll take your advice... this little one is starting to tire me out," said Salil as he slowly walked to the wooden armchair placed near the window of the large kitchen hut.

At three months into his pregnancy, dizziness, leg cramps and frequent trips to the bathroom were a common occurrence. There was a small bulge in his belly signifying the healthy growth of his child. And just the mere thought of his child growing safe and sound, away from the walls of the treacherous palace of Antharv made all of it worth it.

As far as he remembered, it was around this time when concubine Mayuri had pushed him down the stairs in his previous life, wanting to kill his unborn child. Though the bitch wasn't there the memories were.

The mere reminder of the incident wracked chills through his entire body. And there was no escaping the nightmares that followed.

But he wasn't suffering alone. He had Madhur, Rudra, Samartha, and Yagni to console him each time he woke up screaming and shouting.

Though some bitter memories remained, Salil didn't want to change a thing about his present.
