A/N: Very short chapter. You'll see why. Enjoy!
When the day of events finally ended, Namjoon was quick to grab Jimin's attention before he packed his things.
"Jiminie..." Namjoon called to him gently. The nickname instantly pulling Jimin out of the tight grasp of his mind.
"Hm?"
"I'm sorry about today. I didn't think our relationship-"
"I-It's not a relationship! Just friends. Nothing more," Jimin defended, clearly flustered. The grip on his backpack increasing. Namjoon was taken aback from the outburst. He couldn't decide whether to feel sympathetic or hurt.
"Well, I didn't think our friendship would create so much drama. You guys are so weird with finding things to attack each other with," He finished with a frown, crossing his arms over his chest. "You know, earlier you said the person you're interested in is a dude, but as soon as anyone else brings it up, you get all defensive. I'm not trying to hurt you or make fun of you. You don't need to be afraid of me."
"Joon, I'm not afraid of you," Jimin responded quietly with shame on his face, stuffing his backpack in a haste. He paused for a moment and sighs," I just can't see myself in a relationship with...another man. I don't want to entertain that."
"You do realize that your heart will do as it pleases?" Namjoon responds blankly, grabbing his belongings as well.
"Just take me home." Namjoon hummed and began heading out with Jimin behind him.
The drive to Jimin's house was encased in an eerie silence. Namjoon's eyes were focused on the road like a hawk on prey. He looked more intimidating than usual like this. It was against his regular extremely dominate/sexy type look. It was more like ' I have a lot on my mind, so don't fuck with me right now' kind of look. Jimin hated seeing Namjoon like this. Especially because it was something he did.
When they arrived at Jimin's home, they sat in their seats for a moment. No words were exchanged. Not even a glance. The beat of silence turned into into a tune before becoming a full symphony. A symphony of nothing. Abruptly, Jimin took his things and rushed out of the car. The silence was killing him. Namjoon looked at the empty seat and nearly jumped out of the car as well,
"Jimin, wait." Namjoon met him halfway in front of the of the truck. The boy spun on his heels, stepping quickly in the other direction. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"
"Namjoon, I can't right now."
"Why not?"They were at a standoff at the back of the truck now.
"Because- just- you!" Jimin retorted shakily, furrowing his brows in frustration.
"What about me, Jimin? Please tell me!" Jimin only grumbled, stomping to the front again. Namjoon ran to him, taking him by the shoulders," Answer me." Jimin meets eyes with the older. He was heavily conflicted. He hated this feeling. Seeing his hyung like this hurt, so he couldn't help it when he involuntarily gave in.
"You, Namjoon. I don't want my heart to be pleased by you! Now, let me go!" Jimin yelled, thrashing his body until he was free from Namjoon's hold. Running into the house and locking the door, Jimin felt as if he was going to explode. He had no intension of saying that out loud. To anyone. It was the truth he was hiding from himself And it was revealed by petty frustration from school drama.
Namjoon was still outside. On the verge of hysterical laughter. Not because he it was funny, but because all this time he thought it was all one sided. All the shameful boners and almost wet dreams about his best friend weren't all in vein. He felt insane. Shaking from his nerves as he stood in Jimin's driveway. Captivated by Jimin's words. Now matter how harsh, they stung with hope.
"Ah, you wait, Park Jimin. You'll have no choice but to fall for me now. If you believe in God, then I believe in fate."
