Epilogue:
20 years later
I was upstairs finishing my makeup and getting dressed for the pack celebration when my mates roaring laughter echoed up the stairs. I smiled and shook my head.
I looked over to the family photo that was next to our bed, on the nightstand.
Our son, Simon, who looked exactly like Xavier, was smiling broadly while hugging his little sister, Natalie. She was a mixture of us both, brown eyes and sandy blond hair. Xavier and I were standing together on the side.
The pack celebration was for those people in the Mate Search who were coming home, our son with them.
Simon was 19, almost 20, and Natalie just turned 16.
I was putting my earrings in as I walked down the stairs to greet Xavier.
He smiled at me with no restraint when he saw me, his whole face lighting up.
I walked up to him and kissed his cheek, his hand coming to rest on my 5-month pregnant stomach.
Everyone in the packhouse was on the front lawn, patiently waiting for those participating in the search to return. We were in the house with Thomas, Evangeline, Rose, and her mate, Tanner.
Thomas and Evangeline ended up with 1 daughter, Dalin, who was slightly older than Simon and would be his Beta. She had already found her mate at last year's Mate Search.
Rose and Tanner had two boys, the oldest, Jacob, was Simon's age, and had already found his mate. The youngest, Arthur, was Natalie's age. We were secretly hoping they were mates.
"How's baby?" Evangeline asked me.
"Baby is fine, mom is very tired, but that's life," I replied.
Xavier and I were expecting another girl in 4 months. We both were surprised when I found out I was pregnant again, but happy. Xavier was very happy to have a daddy's girl again.
"We should go join everyone before they get here," Rose remarked.
I voiced my agreement and walked outside to join the rest of the pack.
We stood outside for a few minutes, Xavier grabbing me some water and a plate of food almost immediately.
We heard cars driving down the road to the packhouse, everyone suddenly went quiet.
The cars pulled up and Simon stepped out of the first one, he walked over to the other side of the vehicle and opened the door.
A woman around Simon's age grabbed his hand and stepped out of the car.
Simon addressed the whole pack, "Everyone, welcome my mate, your future Luna, Nova Keys, eldest daughter of Alpha Justin of the Twilight Moon pack."
