Chapter 3

~Miranda's POV~

Skyla has been keeping me up all night and I don't know if it's her allergies or what. I'm not going to take her into the doctor since she isn't running a fever. It's 99.1 but it's been dropping and going back to 99. It might just be a little cold. She isn't coughing really bad and she's still able to breathe. I've been sucking snot out of nose all night. I don't think we will be able to go out today and I realized it was 12:30. I dialed Morgan's number.

"Hello?" He answered.

"Hey," I said. "I'm so sorry but we won't be able to go out today. Skyla has a little cold. You are more than welcome to come over though."

"Okay that's fine. I can bring lunch?"

"That sounds perfect. If I look a little tired, it's because I've been up all night."

"No worries. I'm sure you still just as beautiful. Well just send me your address and I'll be over soon with some lunch. It might be a little before 2:30 though is that okay?"

"That's fine! I'll send you my address."

"Alright I will see you later."

We hung up and I texted him my address. I got up and quietly got ready so I wouldn't wake Skyla up. She woke up around 7 for breakfast and went back to sleep around 11:30 so I took the time and took a little nap for myself. As soon as I was done washing up and getting ready, I threw on some leggings and a T-shirt. When I was done it was already 2:00. I took a really long shower today because the water felt so good on my body. I quickly grabbed the monitor and went downstairs as the doorbell rung. Bo started barking and I tried to shoo him away.

"Hi!" Morgan greeted me as I opened the door. "I got lunch."

"Thank you so much," I said grabbing the bag from him. "Come in."

"Wow you have a nice place here."

"Thank you. I fell in love with it when I went house shopping so I just bought it. Skyla is upstairs still napping but she should be up any minute. I feel so bad. I'm sorry about today."

"It's totally fine."

As soon as he said that, Skyla started crying.

"You can come up with me if you'd like," I offered to him. "Just let me put this stuff down."

I set the stuff in the kitchen and Morgan and Bo followed me upstairs.

"Hi baby," I smiled at her.

"Mama!" She said excitingly.

I went and picked her up. She looked over at Morgan with wide eyes. I giggled.

"That's Morgan," I said sitting her down on the changing table. "He's hanging out with us today. He's going to play with us."

She giggled and clapped her hands. Once I finished changing her diaper I wiped the crust from her nose. I took the nose Frieda and turned around to Morgan.

"You might think this is gross but I promise none of it is getting into my mouth," I laughed.

He laughed and nodded his head. Once I finished getting the snot out of her nose, i fixed her hair up a little to make her look a little decent. I picked her up. We all walked downstairs and I put Skyla in her high chair. I cleaned out the nose Frieda and I washed my hands.

"Can I get you something to drink to go with lunch?" I asked Morgan. "I have tea, water."

"Tea is fine," he smiled sitting next to Skyla's high chair.

I poured us both a glass and sat them down on the table. I made Skyla some water and gave her a little lunch to have. As she dug in to her food, Morgan and I dug into ours.

"Thank you so much for lunch," I said finishing up the last bit. "It was really good."

"No problem," he smiled at me.

He looked over at Skyla and she was smiling at him. She out her hands on her face and took them away fast like she was playing peek a boo. Morgan went along with it and she laughed so hard she couldn't catch her breath. It was the cutest thing ever.

"Do you mind if I record this?" I asked Morgan.

"Not at all," he said still playing Skyla.

I recorded a little video and sent it to Hailey and my mom. Morgan got up and helped me clean up lunch. As he was putting everything away, I was cleaning up Skyla. Once she was all cleaned up and her high chair was clean, we all went into the living room. I sat down on the couch with her in my lap and Morgan sat next to me. Skyla crawled over to Morgan's lap and cuddled into a little ball. A few minutes later she started snoring little baby snores.

"I'm sorry," I whispered to Morgan.

"It's fine," he said quietly. "You can tell she isn't feeling the best."

"I know."

"So, while we're sitting here let's get to know each other a little better."

"Okay."

"Tell me things about yourself that I don't know."

I told him everything I could remember to tell him and he did the same with me. We shared a few laughs and Skyla woke up wanting to play with her toys. Morgan set her down and she walked over to her toys and started playing.

"I'm having a lot of fun," Morgan said.

"I am too," I smiled over at him.

"Hey, so I have two more shows left. I'll be gone all week next week. But say I come back and we can really get to know each other. Maybe we can hang out with some of your friends. Like the one that was with you at the show the other night."

"Oh for sure! I'm down for that!"

"Good."

He looked over and smiled at me. I smiled back at home and just got lost in his eyes.

"So I think I'm going to get going," he said standing up.

"No!" Skyla yelled running over to him.

He picked her up.

"I have to!" He said giving her a big hug. "I'll be back in a week to come hang out again."

"Yay!" She cheered.

"Okay well be careful," I said walking him to the door.

He handed Skyla over to me but she wanted down. I let her run off back to her toys. Morgan pulled me into a tight hug that seemed to have lasted forever. Once he pulled away, our faces were just inches away. I looked up at him and he was staring right into my eyes. He pulled away and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

"Thank you for letting me come over today," he said smiling at me.

"Thank you as well," I smiled back.

He gave me one last hug and out the door he went. I closed the door and just sighed as butterflies filled my stomach.
