~Miranda's POV~

My mom had just gotten here and she's trying to help me pick out something to wear. It was currently 6:15. Morgan was going to be here in about 45 minutes. We finally found a cute tight fitting black dress in my closet. Simple but fancy. I paired it with some nude heels I had.

"You look beautiful," my mom said to me.

"Mama!" Skyla yelled out to me. "Wuv you."

She gave me a big kiss. I felt my phone buzz and it was a text from my friend Aaryn Williams. I told her and everyone of my other best friends which are like three more that I'm going on a date with Morgan Wallen tonight.

Aaryn: Good luck tonight! You got this!
Me: Thank you! Love you so
Aaryn: Love you long time

I smiled and the doorbell rung.

"Morgan!" Skyla said running to the steps.

My mom thankfully caught her and I grabbed my purse. We walked downstairs and I opened the door.

"Morgan!" Skyla run up to him.

"Hey sweetheart," he said with his cute country accent.

He gave her a hug and took a long look at me.

~Morgan's POV~

I hugged Skyla and put her down. My eyes landed on Miranda. She looked absolutely stunning.

"You ready?" Was all I could get out.

She smiled and nodded. She told her mom bye and she apparently was on the other side of the house so she didn't hear her. She leaned down and gave Skyla a kiss.

"Go find Yaya," she said to her.

Skyla went running to go find Miranda's mom.

"Let's go," she said taking a deep breath.

I went and opened her car door. As soon as she got in, I went around and got in myself. I decided to just rent a car since I'll be here for two whole weeks. I reached into the backseat and grabbed the flowers I bought for her.

"These are for you," I said handing them to her.

"Oh my thank you!" She said giving me a kiss on the cheek.

I smiled at her. Once we got to the restaurant we were instantly seated because I had made reservations. We ordered ourselves some drinks and checked out the menu.

"I never thought Morgan Wallen would take someone to a fancy restaurant," she joked.

"Well you know I clean up very well," I joked back.

She giggled and I just stared at her.

"You look absolutely stunning tonight," I said to her.

She started blushing and she covered her face with the menu. I took my hand and pulled the menu down.

"You're cute when you blush," I flirted.

"You look very handsome tonight," she complimented.

The waiter came back with our drinks and we ordered our food.

"So," I said sipping my drink. "Do you ever wish that Skyla had a father figure around?"

"Sometimes," she sighed. "It would've been a lot of help. She can be a handful sometimes. But everything happens for a reason."

"I agree," I looked at her. "Do you think you'll ever find someone good enough to be a father figure to her?"

"I like to hope so. I believe God has someone planned for the both of us to have."

I smiled and nodded. Our food came and we continued small talk. Once we were finished and I paid the bill, we started to walk out. I opened up her car door and she hopped in. I got into the driver's seat and cut on the car.

"That was wonderful," she said to me. "Thank you so much. You don't know how bad I needed that."

"When was the last time you went on a date?" I asked her.

"Before Skyla was even born," she sighed looking a little embarrassed. "I just never had time to. Being a single mom isn't a joke."

"Don't be embarrassed by it though. You did a great job being a single mom. You're still kicking ass at it."

"You really think so?"

"I know so."

She smiled at me.

"So wanna go back to your house and hang out or?" I asked her.

"That's fine," she smiled. "My mom would probably want to go home anyways."

We both laughed and drove back off to her house. We walked in quietly knowing Skyla was probably sleeping.

"Hey mom," she said to her mom.

"Hey honey," her mom said turning around and looking at the both of us.

"We're just going to hang out here for the rest of the date so you can go home," Miranda said time her mom.

"Okay!" her mom said giving Miranda a kiss on the cheek. "You must be Morgan. I'm Darlene Finch. It's nice to meet you."

"So nice to meet you Mrs. Finch," I said giving her a hug.

"Call me Darlene," she said. "People calling me by my last time make me feel old. I already get called grandma."

We all laughed and she said her goodbyes. Once she left, Miranda took her heels off and threw them to the side. We sat down on the couch and just stared at the walls.

"Um," I said ruining the silence. "I know it's only been about two weeks, but Um I've caught some feelings for you. Not going to lie about that."

"Me too," she whispered looking over at me.

I looked into her beautiful green eyes and got lost in them. She seemed to have done the same to me. I felt myself leaning in. Once our lips touched, butterflies exploded in my stomach. I felt like a little kid again getting his first kiss. We both pulled away a few seconds later. I put my arm around her and pulled her into my side. There was no other place I would want to be. This girl is going to get my heart one day. And from what it looks like, it'll be soon.
