"Every man needs a woman, when his life is a mess."
BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!!
Darkness was going to be a friend tonight. It was going to hide his 'escape', if he could really call it that. Strolling straight out the front door was not the ideal thing to do. Ma'dam Boss, or Grandmother, had simply told him to take the front door next time he wanted to 'sneak out'. He did as told, being quiet. She was ornery as it was, no need to fan the flames even more. Silver believed she had no right when it came to his life, absent in growing up and hence forth after his so called Father had been taken down and thrown in jail, she had still been absent.
'ENOUGH!! I need to focus. Suppose to be there shortly.'
Silver's mind was to say the least a mess, thoughts jumbled, scattered to the wind. Sometimes blurting things out before thinking it through completely, lead him to embarrassing Ma'dam Boss in front of company, where the worst. He nearly had a panic attack when flashes of his Father's treatment surfaced. Lady Irina had cleared the room over everyone, he was seen by the mansions personal doctor, who deemed him ok afterwards. He'd been bed ridden for nearly a month, Until she had come to visit.
'She was still mad at me, can't be late. Not again.'
Blossom had stormed the front gates in a sense. Making her way up to his room via the vines provided by her Leafeon. It was sweet in a way, she had first thrown pebbles to get his attentions. Opening the window, there she was. Instead of Silver, she was greeted by Lady Irina's right hand man, Cornelius. He allowed her in, leading to the young master. That had been a disaster.
"Blossom?"
The lamppost blared at him, hiding what he needed to see.
"Because just like in the game of chess: The Queen protects the King."
There she stood, hair tucked behind her ear. Eyes shining, her foot kicked at a pebble not there. He gazed for longer then he should have, the hammering in his chest refused to cease. Here she was a goddess among man. Here he was ruffled man-boy. At least he felt that way. She made him feel better, that nothing else was taking his 'worth' away.
"Silver..?"
His mouth dry, she was addressing him. Stumbling along the path until he too, was under the lamppost.
"Yeah?"
She grinned, taking his sweaty hands, placing them upon her. His unworthy self, yet her face never betrayed him like others. Nor did it falter when he messed up. She keep true.
"Still owe me a dance since the last one was interrupted."
His head blended together at her words. Suddenly bolder by words, forehead touched. Eyes downcast, until a nose meet his. Bewildered, they swayed to non-existent music. Slow turns, no two left feet for anyone tonight. Blossom smiled at him, his heart fluttered, returning a lopsided grin. She laughed as they continued as they were. He chose this, in this moment, his time was worth something and he would chose what to spend it doing.
"Troubled?"
"Grandma..."
"Need help?"
The air baited, did he want to try anything? Not yet, time was something he was working on.
"Not yet."
She laughed again, angelic as always. Sweet ringing in his ears. His joined hers.
"Just say the word."
