ENSLAVED BY REJECTION

There she was sinking in the pool of her own pain,
Thoughts pacing back and forth.
All pleasures sicken, and all glories sink
Embraced with blind purpose.

I am but a slave to sadness.
At least that's her daily reminder.

Her presence knows no recognition
And it all comes down to a trembling voice,
Labeled with nothing but rejection.

Shut out from the rest of the world
With no reservation about her intentions.

Her name is said with so much hatred,
Her heavy eyes matched to a waterfall.
Even when she tries to get back up,
The cold chains pierce through her skin
And pull her back down.

She deserves better
Happiness is Gold.

Stars gazing down at her with pity
Evident in it's eyes
Never visited by nature's sweet nurse.

Kissed by paradise of darkness,
Life is not worth it
Memories afflicted with hurt
But death is never a way out.
