Alec(pov)

The way back home was hell. It began to rain, followed minutes later by a storm. The rain was falling down on Magnus's unconscious body as if it wanted to bury him. It was then, I began to panicking even more. With the strength I had, I lift him against my back, taking him in a piggyback way. He was heavy, indeed heavy. The thought of calling someone to help me passed in my mind many times. But I couldn't for many reasons. So, I kept going, until I could finally see the street light not far from where I was. I was glad, for once, that my parents weren't at home. As I walked inside, the floor was getting wet because my shoes were all soaked. I didn't care a bit, still carrying Magnus upstairs as I finally reached my room.

I laid him on my bed, I watched as his still motionless body occupied the soft mattress.

My mind was a mess, filled with thousands of possibilities of how Magnus ended up like this.

What happened? That question was burning deep inside my core. I immediately checked for the pulse, putting my fingers against his cold neck. The temperature wasn't the best but it was getting better since I've taken him inside. The pulse was there.

With all my strength left,  I dragged my feet all the way to the bathroom. I took a little towel and soaked it with warm water. Closing quietly the door of my room, my gaze fell to Magnus, who was still sleeping deeply.

I placed the towel on his forehead, hoping he wouldn't move much in his sleep.

Suddenly, the hours I've spent sleepless, came all in one making it hard for me to stay awake.

I needed to, I kept reminding to my mind... but at some point, I fell asleep without even realizing.
