"Night. When the light runs from the dark. The sun hides. We are strangers tonight. The darkness tears off our faces. Shadows are cast over our bodies. And we lose ourselves. We can't make out our friends in the darkness. We can't see our enemies. To the friends we lost and the ones that lost us, don't let the night take you. Find your way."

The desert, Missile Kid and a group of draculoids. These are the last things Cola remember before the darkness came.

Cola hated killing, he hated guns, he couldn't force himself to point at someone and fire, but that doesn't change the fact that he was the best shooter any killjoys could have seen. But this time was different, this time he break that blockade because he couldn't watch another person that he care about die because of his fear to kill.

But, if he's the best shooter and everything was going well, why is he seeing darkness? It's different kind of darkness, not that kind where you can turn the light to see a way. In this darkness you couldn't turn the light, there is no escape, all you can do is wander and pray, so your worst nightmares won't catch you.

- Open your eyes Cola.-

He heard that four words while being stuck in dark. The voice sounded plesantly, but he definitly didn't know the person who was speaking.

- C'mon, we don't have whole evening.-

Sky in the shades of pink and blue, that was the first thing he saw after opening his eyes.

- You're finally awake, good. Now stand up and come with me.-

For a short moment he lied still staring at figure speaking to him. He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Right next to him was standing a stragne creature, covered with black feathers which gave an illusion of long coat, thin legs and arms covered in bandages and a mask on face. That was definietly not a killjoy. Cola stood up abruptly to face the creature, he automatically reached for a gun, or a place where it supposed to be.

- Our first meeting and you're reaching for a gun, it's not what I've expected from someone who was against a violence for years. -

"First meeting?" thought Cola. There is only one person who haven't meet yet, but it can't be true.

- Wait, you're...-

- Phoenix Witch, how you used to call me.- she said

He suddenly notices a pink mask in her left hand, his mask. And that means only one thing.

- Did I die? -

- Cola, you know answer to this question already but if you really need to hear this then yea, you died. Now come on, follow me.-

It took him a moment to realize what happened and what the situation is. After all, not every day you hear that you're dead and not every day you see a supernatural figure that takes care for souls. Cola would stay in his thoughts for a long time but he noticed that Phoenix Witch was moving away so he quickly followed her.

- Wait! I have a few questions! - he shouted slowly catching up with her - What happened to Missile Kid? Is she alive?

- You don't have to worry about her, I took care of her. Yes, he is alive and already knows the whole truth about herself. She has no intention of hiding or running anymore, she is finally ready to fulfill her destiny. -

Cola breathed a sigh of relief, Phoenix knew what she was talking about so he didn't have to worry about anything. He knew that every killjoy would follow and obey her, even someone like Val Velocity.

 - Wait, where are we going? - Cola asked walking with Phoenix Witch towards the setting sun.

 - Home. -

Kobra loved watching the sunsets. It was one of the very few things that pleased him. Every evening he would sit on the roof of his present house and admire the multi-colored sky, pondering over solutions. He liked to remember the time when he was still living with his friends and other killjoys, and he liked to imagine what his friends were doing. He once imagined Show Pony trying to learn how to skate Cherri Cola with negative results. Every time he was thinking about it, a smile would appear on his face and damn, if only he could he would give anything to see it for real.

So, as always, Kobra came out in front of the building to go right to his place and watch the sunset, but immediately after closing the door, his attention was drawn to two figures walking towards his house. One of them was of course the Phoenix Witch, she was the only one who knew where Kobra Kid and his friends lived, so his attention was more drawn to the person walking next to her. Looking closely at the figure, Kobra recognized a green short-sleeved jacket, this jacket belonging to a certain person he had known in his lifetime and with whom he had a special bond. Before he could come to any rational thought, he ran towards him. Cherri, also seeing a figure standing in front of the building wearing a red jacket, began to run, not paying attention to the Phoenix Witch, because he could not believe that this could be the person he had been missing for so unimaginably long. They fell into each other's arms as soon as they could.

- I thought I wouldn't see you again. - Cola said embracing Kobra while tears began to appear in his eyes.

- And vice versa. - Kobra replied with a slight smile, still not believing who he was seeing. - But what happened, why are you here? - he asked, stepping slightly away from the man, catching his face in his hands to look at him closely and to make sure he was real.

- Too many draculoids, I couldn't defend myself, I'm sorry ... - a tear ran down his cheek

- It's all right, Cola. - Kobra replied, wiping away a single tear. - It's okay. -

Kobra noticed a gray strand across the front of his brown hair, and it was certainly not there the last time they saw each other. For a few seconds, they both stared at each other intensely as if they wanted to catch every little detail that could change in their appearance. However, Cola broke the gaze.

 - I'm sorry, Kobra, I'm so sorry that I wasn't with you that day. - he said, hugging the man once more, tucking his head into the crook of his neck and sobbing gently. - Maybe everything would have gone differently...-

- Don't apologize, it wasn't your fault. Not everyone is able to break down and kill. Everything is all right now, forget what happened back then.-

Once again Kobra touched Cola's face with both hands, smiling slightly but sincerely at him.

 - The important thing is that you are here with me, with us. - he finished

- Party, Ghoul, Jet and Dr. D are here too? -

Kobra nodded in agreement.

- Yes, come with me, I'm sure they'll be surprised to see you here. -

Cherri Cola grabbed Kobra by the hand and together they went to the building to say hello to their friends in the other world. Today Kobra felt really happy for the first time in a very long time, he even forgot about the sunset he was supposed to watch.

And the Phoenix Witch? Well, as always, she did her job very well, escorted the lost soul home.

"Killjoys, you will always find your way home"
