kai... (the hollow kai x adam)

part one: normal life... for now

Life in the digital world is sorta normal, it's hard to get over the fact that you're just an electronic clone of your real self and that only six people in your life are actually normal. Well... normal may not be the right word but, whatever...

"Hey Adam!" Kai said excitedly while scaring Adam out of his thoughts. "AH... oh um, hey Kai, hey Reeve" Adam said. "Dude common we're gonna be late to meet up with the girls, go start the car Kai". "Right, on it Reeve!" Kai said saluting and backing out of the room.

Adam couldn't help but smile while he watched Kai hit the doorframe on his way out and make mean faces at it. How much cuter could Kai get?

"Earth to Adam, let's go already grab some shoes and snap out of... whatever you're in". Reeve gave Adam a confused/rushed look and went out to the car to wait. "Shit, what if Kai had seen me looking at him..." Adam muttered to himself as he put on his shoes and ran to the car.

Adam got out of the car and walked up to the table where the girls were sitting at holy donuts. "Alright i'll go get the donuts, V you wanna come?" Reeve asked. "Yeah sure, be right back guys!" she said as her and Reeve walked into the shop. "I'll come too, I need to use the bathroom." Kai said as he followed them in.

As soon as they were all out of earshot Mira got down to business. "So did you tell him yet? Does he know? He didn't seem awkward, are you two dating then?" Mira questioned him. "NOOOO, *grm* no, no i haven't told him yet... i don't know how" Adam said with a sad and desperate look in his eyes.

"Oh come on what do you have to lose? He's bi right, he came out to us and his parents a month ago, him and Vanessa ended things, he's totally up for grabs!" Mira explained trying to make Adam feel more confident.

"Well yeah but... what if he doesn't feel the same way Mira, what if when i tell him he'll never wanna talk to me again? I can't risk losing him... he's... he's the most important thing in my life." Adam sighed not knowing what to do.

"Who wants donuts!" Kai yelled as him, Reeve, and Vanessa came out of the shop laughing. Wow, was his laugh always so cute? Adam felt himself light up while listening to Kai's voice. Lunch went on and they all talked and joked until one by one it was only Kai and Adam left.

"I'll see you guys around okay? bye!" Mira shouted while riding away on her scooter. Kai and Adam Shouted "Okay bye!" back at her while laughing. A few moments of silence went by as they watched her drive away.

"Hey Adam, aren't you kinda getting bored of this place, it can't just be me. Like, they only play movies we've seen and books we've read and there aren't any new people to meet or new places to go." Kai sighed while watching a mom and her two kids walk by, completely oblivious that they weren't real.

"Yeah it is, the only excitement I get is hanging out with the group." Adam said, now sad about how boring his life was. "Well, that and reading books i guess".

"Books... AHAHAHAHA" Kai almost fell out of his chair he was laughing so hard. "You actually read? Nope common we're fixing this right now." Kai said as he grabbed Adams wrist and pulled him out of his chair.

"I, wha-" Adam started to say. He was cut of by Kai running down the street, pulling him by the wrist shouting "Trust me!"  over his shoulder.
