There Was Nothing You Could Do

"Jin! Jin stop!" I run down the hallway with two files in my hand.

"Hoseok where are you going?" Namjoon sounds confused.

"Jin come back!" I turn the corner to the stairwell but a shadow is there.

I stumble around the corner and toward Hoseok.

"Hoseok! Turn around! Go! Run!" I wave me hands in the air, trying to get him to run.

"What?" He stops walking and cocks his head, Jimin on his back.

"Fucking run dammit!" I try and show him how important this is.

His eyes go wide and he finally listens to my words.

As he turns and Jimin starts to panic.

"What the hell is that?! Am I asleep? Oh god! Jin-hyung?! What is happening? Hobi put me down!"

Hoseok slides Jimin off his back and he bolts down the hallway, away from us.

"Turn the corner and there's a stairwell!" I shout to Jimin.

Namjoon, Jungkook, and Yoongi run with Hoseok.

I turn around and it's gone.

"Jin! Behind you!" Yoongi shouts.

I spin around and the creature is standing only a few inches away from my face.

I sprint to the other stairwell, "Go to the tenth floor! I'll meet you there!"

I open the stairwell and hurry up the stairs.

Why are they here? I can't believe they actually came this far.

I look at the files I have in my hand.

"None of this makes any sense!" I sit down onto the cold stairs.

I set down Taehyung's file and read the other.

I stand up and pick Taehyung's file off the floor.

The door to the tenth floor opens before I get the chance to get close to it.

I prepare myself to run but I'm greeted with a tight hug.

"I can't believe you're here. When Taehyung said he couldn't find you we all got worried. I'm so happy we found you hyung." Jungkook hugs me tight.

"What the hell was that?" Yoongi stands in the doorway.

"I don't know for sure, but I have to get back to-"

"Do you know where Taehyung is?!" Jungkook rocks on the balls of his feet.

"Uh..."

"You do! Is he here? Can you take us to him?" His smile is huge.

"I..."

"Oh, please hyung~!"

"Agh! Fine, but if he doesn't want to see you, don't blame me." I push through the doorway and Jungkook follows me.

"Come on guys!" He sounds so happy.

The others hesitantly follow.

I knock on the door, "Hey...they...they're here..."

"What! No! Tell them I'm not here!" Taehyung's voice is muffled through the door.

"Hyung?!" Jungkook nearly pushes me to the ground as he rushes through the door.

Taehyung glares at me as Jungkook hugs him and I shrug.

I walk in the room and sit on my bed and throw my files next to me, "If you're all going to come in please shut the door."

Jimin is the first to come in and he seems a bit scared.

Hoseok follows behind him, "It's gone Jimin."

"For now." Tae's voice is low and doesn't bear any emotion.

"Tae!" I look at him.

"What? I'm not wrong am I?"

I don't answer him.

"See!"

Yoongi and Namjoon walk in, and Yoongi shuts the door.

"You got it?" Taehyung raises an eyebrow at me.

I give him a look, trying to tell him, not now, but he picks up his file anyway.

"What are they?" Jungkook picks the other up before I can stop him.

"Jungkook! Don't!" I try and grab the file from him but he jumps onto Taehyung's bed.

He laughs a bit but as soon as he opens the file his face is filled with regret.

"I told you not to open it..."

"This can't be real. There's no way. Why would they..." I can see tears forming in his eyes, but he looks more confused than upset.

"What is it?" Yoongi furrows his brow.

"It's nothing. It's absolutely nothing." I take the file from Jungkook.

"Jin? What's going on?" Namjoon's face is filled with confusion.

I pinch the bridge of my nose and hand the file to Yoongi.

"Why are you giving this to me?" He looks at me, then Jungkook, then the file.

I watch as he hesitantly opens the file.

"What the hell is this!?" He throws it at me, "There's no way..."

"Yoongi? What was it?" Hoseok asks.

Yoongi stares at the ground, "It...they...they want me."
