There Was Nothing You Could Do

-𝑌𝑜𝑜𝑛𝑔𝑖-

No one has said a thing ever since I responded to Hobi and it's starting to get awkward.

There's a sudden knock at the door. Since I'm the closest I jump a bit.

A sweet yet demented voice comes from the other side of the door. "Mr.Min? It's so great to know you're finally here!"

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. It's so loud I'd be surprised if the others couldn't hear it.

Jin squeezes my shoulder and walks to the door. He opens it a bit, and closes it once he walks out.

I walk up to the door and press the side of my head against it, trying to hear the conversation.

"Susan, I don't know who you're talking about but he's not here."

"I was told he had arrived Mr.Kim. You shouldn't lie to me." It sounds like she's giving him a warning.

I can barely hear Taehyung talking to himself, "This is bad, this is bad, this is so bad."

"Did you know about this?" I whisper to him.

"No! How could I? I didn't even know Jin-hyung was here!" He whispers back.

A hand grabs the door and I see Jin's face. He turns back around, "Susan? Where-" he abruptly stops talking and shuts the door.

There is a loud growl and Jin shouts at us, "Whatever you do! Don't leave that room!" I can hear him running away from the door.

I look at Taehyung who nods, and then Hobi.

"Seriously?" He looks a bit frightened.

"Yes, seriously."

"Ah, fine."

"Wait." Taehyung opens a cupboard and starts to dig in it. He emerges with two walkie talkies, "Just incase anything happens."

I step into the hallway and turn to my left where a shadow is running down the hall in the direction Jin went.

"Hobi." I look at Hoseok, "When I scream, run to the stairwell and just go up."

He hesitates for a moment and then nods.

"Hey ugly!" I cup my hands around my mouth and shout as loud as I can.

The creature turns around and I can't hear Hoseok running behind me over the sound of my own heartbeat.

Two of its four arms are crammed against the ceiling while the other two are in front of it. It's head is barely noticeable until it opens its mouth. Drool hangs from the uncountable number of teeth in the creature's mouth.

It starts running toward me and I turn around.

I run to the stairwell, maybe the fastest I've ever ran in my life.

I can hear a voice shouting from somewhere behind the creature but I can't make it out.

I push open the stairwell door and climb the stairs.

I look down the flight I just ran and the stairwell door below suddenly flies off. The creature looks up at me and starts climbing.

I feel a hand grab the back of my shirt and pull me up the stairs.

The hand lets go and I start running with the person.

"Come on!" The door to the sixteenth floor is pushed open.

This hallway looks different than the one we were just at. It's filled with dust and the windows and doors are barricaded with wood.

Hoseok joins me in the hallway.
