Chapter 6

So I left the last chapter with draco entering the hospital wing and you know that he proposes in there and Ginny leaves to go and eat in the great hall so that's where I'm leading from.

Ginny' POV
I casually walk into the great hall, and I notice the couples all sitting together, well the couples who had both members at Hogwarts anyway, I glance towards the front of the hall seeing McGonagall at Dumbledores chair. Even now he's dead I will always think of him being head master and sitting at the centre of the staff table, he was such an amazing man. Who (even though was questionable at times) with his wisdom and wonder would lead students to greatness. I wonder what he would say about the law if he was here; he would probably tell us some riddle about how love can be found in the most hated people or some crap like that, he may be great but he sure as hell confused me at times.
I plop down at the Gryffindors table next to Harry. I need to talk to him but he isn't even looking at me.
"Look Harry.." I start
"No Ginny" he cuts me off "it was meant to be you and me with perfect kids and a perfect house because I love you AND YOU WILL BE MINE AGAIN I SWEAR!" He raises his voice and storms out of the hall: gaining attention from all students and staff.
This wasn't the Harry that I knew, what has the war done to him.
I frown at the thought of the boy that I loved for years could be gone, I look up to see Hermione now next to me and embracing me in a hug, obviously heard Harry's vow of determination.
I start to sob into her shoulder and hold on to her as if she will fall away if I don't. That's how I feel, as if my life and future is falling away.
Hermione guides me by my shoulders, to the dorms.
We both sit at my bed and she looks me in the eye
" Ginny I won't let anything happen to you ok, you are my sister for life and if Malfoy thinks he will take you away and hurt you he has another thing coming" Hermione comforts
I wipe my tears and hold my head high, she was right, I can't let him in so he can destroy me, he is vile and cruel and I cannot imagine how I was paired with him, how was I paired with him? Maybe he is changing, but he was still calling me weaslette when he was in the hospital wing and I glance at the ring on my finger. Maybe this could work.
"Hermione he proposed to me" I show her the ring
" Ginny" she asked "can you see a future with him"
" I have absolutely no idea." I chuckle
She grins at me and we break out into full blown laughing fits at the ridiculousness of our situation.
"Wait Hermione, how do you feel about Fred?" I question, feeling bad about making all things about me when I haven't even asked how she is.
" Well" she sighed "Honestly, I can see it working, I mean it's a shame for me and Ron but I could see myself with Fred" she half-smiled
"Well as long as your happy, but I don't know about Ron" She sighs at me with sadness, I think of something to try and lighten the mood again.
I gasp in realisation
"What is it!?" Hermione asked obviously thinking something is wrong
"HERMIONE WHEN YOU MARRY FRED YOU WILL BE MY ACTUAL SISTER!"
" I know right!"
We hug again, but this time through happiness, every cloud has a silver lining I suppose.
We change into your PJ's as it turns to night and we stay up to ridiculous hours in the morning talking about nothing. I know she will always have my back.
