Now another thing I forgot to mention, I can see things and do things other people can't do. For example, a week after I had been accepted into Lord Jackson's home, I found out that Rosalin made the best cookies on earth and I wanted them. It wasn't that simple though, because Rosalin had years of practice hiding them from Lord Jackson's greedy hands. After about an hour of searching the kitchens, I sat down in the middle of the floor and closed my eyes, ready for a temper tantrum. Rosalin, who had been watching my fruitless efforts for some time now watched, amazed, as I stood up, with my eyes still closed, and as if I had hidden them my self, opened the secret panel in the pantry and took out to cookie jar. Rosalin was so surprised that she just left me there wondering what planet I had come from. This may explain what happened next.
Since I had dropped my candle in the hallway, it was black as night. For some reason, the dark heightens my senses beyond the norm. That was how I was able to dodge the bullet the man behind Rosalin fired at me. I dropped to the ground seemingly a second before he fired, the bullet grazing my hair. The man smiled with grim satisfaction, pushed the crying Rosalin to the ground, and pointed his sword at me. I heard footsteps and he nodded to someone behind me who promptly hit me over the head, making the world go black.
I woke to a splashing sound and a horrible rocking sensation. I couldn't see, probably blindfolded and my head hurt worse than the time I fell out of the giant elm tree in front of Lord Jackson's castle. I sat up too quickly and almost fell back down. "Whoa there, don't want to get sick now." A man's voice came from behind me. All of my instincts told me to jump up again but I really didn't want to find out what supper smelled like when it comes back up so I stayed still. " What happened to Rosalin and Lord Jackson?" I asked the man. " so he's a Lord is he?" the man mused "No wonder he lived in such a fine house. I wondered where he had gone off to" I clenched my fists wondering if he had just killed the only family i had out of spite. " To answer your questions, I am Terrance, a thief and resident of the thieve's island and you are on a boat, as you probably guessed. As to where we are going," He chuckled "We are going home." Home? I just been stolen from my home, if they hadn't burned it down. Apparently my expressions were easy to read even with the blindfold because he sighed. " NO we did not burn your house down and yes the lord and his maid are both safe. just taking a little nap." Well that was a relief, if he was telling the truth. I tried to sit up, slowly, but I found that my hands and feet were tied. " Is there a reason why I'm trussed up like a cow?" I asked, more annoyed then scared at this point "Oh that's an easy one, you have been deemed dangerous." Dangerous? well a great dessert stealer for sure, but dangerous? That was new. I heard a scraping noise and felt to boat stop. " We're here. welcome to the island of thieves, welcome home"
