I first ran into Hearth in the market. He was trying to buy some food but didn't have enough to cover it. He was trying to flirt the bread out of the poor elderly woman running the stand. I pull out a silver piece and place it on the counter.

"Why don't you let the poor woman be." I hand him the loaf. He flashes me a devilish smell which just pissed me off at the time. I had no experience with flirting and in all honesty it wasn't of any interest.

"Oh Princess! Thank you you're so kind." The woman  praises me. Honestly a silver piece wasn't worth this but I take her complement kindly and go about my day.

"So?" I had apparently picked up a follower in the form of 7 foot Dragonborn.

"Can I help you." I continued walking toward the research lab. I didn't have time for this and I made it very clear I didn't wish to talk, I even quickened my pace.

"Oh a princess with an attitude?" He had no trouble keeping pace. "How about as a thank you I let you join me for a boat ride?"

"How about as a thank you you return the silver you owe me." I make a turn into the research building and waste no time heading to Grimm's office. I'm not sure why but Harth waited outside thank god

"Grimm Pera sent me with this for you." I hand him a large packet of papers. "Some reports of monster sightings in the lake."

"Good! Good! This is exactly what I was waiting on." The small halfling man snatched the packet out of my hand and immediately dumped the contents onto his desk.

"I'm glad to help. Do you need anything else." I try to make polite small talk with all of the higher ups but he was disinterested. Actually I doubt he heard me at all he was so wrapped in his new research.

People in my kingdom are very dedicated to the pursuit of truth and knowledge we have leading research centers on just about any topic. My Pera believes the people who evolve and learn are the people who are strongest. So instead of putting funding into a large military and large weapons he puts funding into the colleges and the research centers. I do like that about Pera, they want to learn and grown the knowledge of our people.

I accept I'm not wanted any longer and head out of the facility. Part of me expecting the Dragonborn to still be waiting for me. I was a bit disappointed to see he wasn't there but I didn't let it bother me. He and I had nothing to do with each other and I doubt we'll ever see each other again.

I walked back to the castle it had been a really nice day the weather was mild and there was just a wonderful vibe in the air. It's days like these when things are peaceful I forget the pressure I'm under to take over the kingdom.

"I need to get in to see Lord Izuiel!"

My peaceful walk home is interrupted by arguing at the gate. One of the knights was blocking entrance to the castl and the one trying to enter is none other than the Dragonborn.

"What are you doing here?" I say as I make my way to the gate

"Oh hey princess! Let me in the castle with you I have some intell! I saw something north of your kingdom and this dude won't let me through" he says as he runs to my side

"Princess He is a pirate I am not to let him in it's almost certainly to steal from the palace." The guard says and stands his post proudly.

Honestly I don't know what came over me but I felt compelled to help the pirate.

"I'll keep an eye on him. Come on." I signal for the guard to open the gate and head inside

"You Princess are really the best! Know know my offer still stands if you want to take a ride." He says in a way that is almost cute but mostly just full of himself

"We'll see." I sigh "call me Everly not princess. It's ..... I don't like it."

"No prob! Everly huh. That's really pretty." He smiles and for a split second I think he's maybe not such a bad guy. Just a split second. "I'm Hearth so you know."

"Hearth. Nice to meet you." I then open the large door to the thrown room "don't forget to bow or they won't talk to you.

I lead him to the front of the room and kneel he follows suit. Pare and dad take a second.

"You made a friend honey?" Dad says in an amused tone.

"Not really." I say

"We met in the market! She helped me. I have something important to inform you about." Hearth stands and says quite confidently. He was different his whole demeanor changes from a cocky bro to a responsibility hero.

"And that is?" Pare says raising their eyebrow and crossing their legs.

"The island that's just north of your country. It's supposed to be inhabited but last night I saw at least 4 ships cast off from the west heading west. Since your country is the closest in proximity I felt it would be important to let you know there is someone there." He says before kneeling again

"That's very curious." Pare sits up and looks at me. "Thank you Everly you're excused."

"Why?" I stand up "can't I hear about this?"

"That's not necessary you have magic lessons soon don't you? Go prepare." They shoo me away. I know better than to complain twice to Per.

"Honey I'll escort you." Dad stand up and walks home out. Once we leave the thrown room he wraps his arm around me

"Dad I want to know what's going on." I sigh

"Honey you know Iz will take care of it and let you know what you need. Besides I'm sure it's nothing pressing." Dad kisses my head and I relax a bit he's right. "So who's the Boy?"

"Dad!" I feel my face heat up. " I just met him in the market. He's a cocky pirate that's all."

"Ok and my daughter just helped him into the palace against protocol because she wanted to no other reason?" He squeezed my arm.

"He seemed like he had something important to say and he did." I keep my cool "there honestly isn't anything I just learned his name 5 minutes ago."

"Fine Fine. " Dad stops short of my study. "Well you know I'm here if you want to talk."

"I know." I sigh before heading to my magic lesson.
