It was 5am in the morning and the group were sitting in a 24 hour dinner for breakfast. The 4 of them sat opposite eachother avoiding eye contact as each of them destroyed their plate of food since they were all hungry. KH and Jongin both were stuffing their faces out of waffles out of the gradual pain each of them were experiencing in their body to regain their energy. "Slow down, you're going to get indigestion", mia warned Jongin as she reached for his utensils. "I'm hungry. Let me eat before I faint." He growled as he moved away, his eyes looking up to meet with KH's figure who was scoffing her face.
He noticed Taeyang was also looking at KH, smiling at her. "How did you get the cut on your cheek?" Mia asked, pestering Jongin even further, "A friend's cat scratched it, whilst I was petting it." He lied. KH stopped eating; her cheeks were chubby like a hamster's. "Oh." Mia sighed, Jongin's radio signalled, "Report of gunshots coming from 22nd East street, any responding officers near the scene?" A voice on the radio glitched out but the detectives could still make the key words out. They started moving, attracting attention from local customers as they ran out the door, KH quickly threw some cash onto the table to pay for their meals, as she sprinted to catch up to the others who were huddled in Taeyang'a car. KH noticed how there wasn't enough room, so she started running since they were close, jongin saw her take off so he followed on foot. "Plain clothes officers responding, we're 3 blocks away."
The squad arrived at the scene after KH and Jongin had ran there faster than a car despite her injury, jongin noticed how she seemed to be running a bit slower than her usual speed, but thought nothing of it since she was tired. They had their guns out as they walked inside, a sudden gun shot above them startled her. It was just them and a shooter in the house, Jongin took the lead as KH laid her hand on his shoulder to guide him, they spilt up at the top of the stairs. The room she searched was empty, she heard fighting in the other room Jongin walked into so she quickly ran to the fight.
Instantly she recognised the face of the figure from her double life, but they had used KH' entrance as a distraction, as they jumped out the window, crashing through the glass. KH went to peer outside to check the body but she ducked when she heard a gun being triggered, mia had shot at the window thinking there was more than one offender. Jongin almost screamed when he saw the bullet case ricoche off any surface it touched after it being aimed for KH. He was too far behind to reach her, so he was glad when she ducked to avoid it. "Are you ok?" He yelled as he frantically checked her bulletproof vest, "I'm fine." She shoved his arms off her, scared that he would check near her bullet wound from the morning, luckily he backed off and ran downstairs.
The first thing he was snatch mia's handgun off her, "how did you pass your gun training? You learn to observe before aiming and then shooting in the academy. Were you trying to attempt murder?!"he scolded her whilst taeyang and KH walked to the body that had glass poking out of it, and was now laying on the front lawn in the long grass face down. "What was this?" Taeyang asked as he took the gun, "A hit maybe. Robbery is possible since the inside was wrecked a bit" KH examined. They heard gasps behind them, finally realising a crowd had gathered. Taeyang sighed as he started moving them back to a specific perimeter, Kh was left alone with the body of the deceased, "It wasn't your time." She whispered, as her eyes glanced over to their arm, it was stitched up, it had a piece of metal sticking out, presuming there was some type of chip buried inside their arm, KH concluded.
The gang finished up and went back to their daily lives, Mia had been scolded by every higher up other than KH, she wasn't bothered really. KH had been on the night shift so she was allowed to go home and have a shower, slamming the door behind her she sighed as she fell onto her couch. Ignoring the darn red stains on the carpet, "Why did they plant this chip into his arm?" She looked at the tiny microchip in a small bottle, wondering to herself. "Well I better get this wound cleaned up" she thought out loud as she grabbed the med kit from her kitchen. Her wound was raw red from the tight stitches Aysu weaved into her shoulder, she was trying not to make noise as she drowned the wound with alcohol to sanitize it.
