Chapter 5
Paul's POV :||
I took the last bite of my sandwich as I was talking to Syd about the girl I met at the party the other night when John came down the stairs with his shirt untucked, hair not combed and tie loose.
"Don't you look a mess" I said
"Good morning to you too Macca" he mumbled as he started walking to the fridge.
"Hey John" said Syd as he started pouring himself a glass of milk.
"Yes Sydney dearest" he said lightly chuckling.
"Did you put me to bed last night?" She asked, looking up at him.
"Yeah, I did" he said, propping his elbows up on the counter as he leaned against it.
"Well" Syd said as she started tucking in his shirt "Thank you" she grinned, now tightening his tie. She stopped and looked up at him before fixing his hair roughly.
"Ey!" He exclaimed before running his hands through his hair to fix it properly.
"Here!" I said as I tossed him my comb. "Last day of work today Johnny boy! Then we're free at last!" I said.
"Yeah for two weeks" he scoffed.

Syd's POV :||
"Killed by electrocution or murdered?" Said Ritch, as our game of 20 questions started to get weirder and weirder.
"Electrocution" I said
"What?" Paul said, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Well I'd rather not know I was going to go and then have it happen suddenly rather than thinking I'm going to die when someone is trying to stab me.
"Yeah I agree with Syd" contributed George.
"Well at least with a murderer I'd have a chance to fight him off!" Said Paul.
"Ha!" Scoffed John "You? Y'couldn't fight off a puppy!"
"I could too!" Paul argued, glaring at him.
"Alright then! Lets go!" Ritch said as he leapt on top of Paul roughly, wrestling him to the ground while everyone laughed. After a bit of a struggle they gave up. Paul jumped up and started trying to fix his hair.
I looked at my watch: 4:30. "Well I'm off!" I announced.
"Where ya goin' then?" George inquired.
"I'm meeting Jason at that restaurant just off Main Street" I said.
"Alright we'll see you tomorrow then, 'cause we'll probably be gone by the time you get back" said Ritch
"Alright see you!" I said as I waved and walked out the front door. It took me almost half an hour to walk to Main Street and find the restaurant. I waited for forty-five minutes at the restaurant and he still wasn't there. Where the hell was he?
I walked to his house and halfway there it started raining, so I ran the rest of the way. When I got there I knocked on the door rapidly.
"Jason!" I called. No answer. I used my spare key to open the door.
"Jason!" I yelled again.
"Hello?!" I yelled exasperatedly, walking down the hallway when he popped out of the bedroom, half dressed and his hair messy.
"Hey Syd! Uhh what are you doing here?" He said sounding very dumbfounded.
"You were supposed to meet me at the restaurant an hour ago!" I said
"That was tonight!? Oh I'm sorry babe I..." He was interrupted by a sneeze.
"What was that?"
"Nothing I..." I pushed open his bedroom door to see a woman laying on his bed.
"Danielle?! Jason how could you!" I started storming out of his house.
"Babe I ..." I cut off his sentence by slapping him right across the face and continued walking out before he grabbed my wrists and pinned me to the wall.
"Don't ever slap me again okay?!" He growled slamming me against the wall, so I spat in his face. His face flushed with anger as he slapped me across the face repeatedly. I could feel the blood now rushing from my nose and now from a cut on my lip. He released me from his grip and I sunk to the floor where he kicked me once in the hip. I conjured all of my strength to stand up and once I started running I didn't stop. I could feel my eyes welling up but couldn't feel the tears on my face because they were mixing with the rain, but still I cried, my eyes aching along with the rest of me.
