i got home and opened the door. i set my bag down and i saw my mom wearing her uniform with her arms crossed looking at me. "care to explain why you were in detention?" she asked and i gulped. "it was an accident! i was just trying to break up a fight between someone and my friend but the school thought i was in on it" i told her and she sighed. "guess that makes more sense. who was the friend?" she asked. "his name is joey. he was new" i said walking to the kitchen. "you mean the joey from the hospital?" she asked and i nodded as i grabbed a water bottle from the fridge.

"it makes me happy that you made a new friend, but on the first day and getting into a fight?" i shrugged and sat on the counter as she chuckled. "on the other hand, how was school?" she walked toward me and leaned against the counter across me. "i mean, it was weird. everyone was just acting weird" i said and she laughed. "i'm gonna think you meant you had an amazing day" she said and i playfully rolled my eyes.

"oh! i forgot! i have to get ready!" she said and took out her hair. "where are you going?" "i have a date tonight. i won't be out late because i have work tomorrow" she said and looked at her phone and started texting someone. "didn't know you were still into that after dad" i said and she looked up at me. "i'm now a free single woman with a gorgeous daughter, i'm ready for anything" she raised her hands out and i laughed. "so, who are you going out with?" "you know my boss, don't you?" she gave me a smile and i raised my eye brows. "that must me exciting for you" i got off the counter and she nodded.

i watched my mom leave in her dress as she got into her dates car. i shut the door and got on my phone. i walked to the couch and sat down. enya started to call the group chat so i answered the call and so did andrea. it looked like they were both facetiming from their computers because andrea was texting on her phone. "y/n! what's up you little trouble maker" enya said and i chuckled. "i was the only innocent one there" i told her and looked at andrea. she was just stuck on her phone texting.

me and enya talked for a little and andrea barely said a word. she was to busy texting. she kept smiling at her phone or giggling. "hey andrea, who are you texting?" i finally asked and she looked up. "just a friend but i have to call you guys back. i have to talk to them" she said and i was just confused. "who is more important then me and enya that you have to end the call?" i said getting frustrated slowly. andrea has been acting really weird or maybe it was just me. "okay girls let's not go there" enya stepped in. "y/n, i told them i would call them back as soon as i could" she replied turning off her phone. "doesn't mean you have to hang up. that's not a good enough reason. you couldn't have called them earlier?" i ask her and she rolled her eyes.

"i was busy so i couldn't so don't get mad at me for that. i have to go now" "i'm not mad i-" she hang up before i could finish talking. i sighed and rubbed my eyes. "andrea has been acting weird" i told enya. "she is probably just stressed. she'll be back to normal tomorrow" she told me. "i'll call the group some other day. see you tomorrow at school" she said and hung up. i turned off my phone and face planted my face into the pillow of the couch. i then picked my head back up and got on my phone to text joey.

it has been two hours and i have just been watching tv. my mom wasn't back yet but it also wasn't so late. i felt my phone buzz and i picked it up and opened it.

"sorry i had to hang up. they were having a hard time so i went over a comforted them" -andrea

"you are fine girl! <3" -enya

"don't worry bout it. sorry i acted like that" -y/n

"yeah, you are alright i guess" -andrea

i groaned turning off my phone and kept watching tv but immediately felt my phone buzz again. i looked at it to see joey just texted me.

Joey😚

"sorry i didn't answer. i was out with friends and didn't go on it that :0" -joey

"surprised you didn't get bitched at for being in a fight" - y/n

"no i did but i was free to go ;)" -joey

"just don't get into anymore fights, alright?" -y/n

"no promises but i'll try cutie ;D" -joey

joey then started to face timed me so i answered. "you look like you just ran a marathon" i said referring to his messy hair, ripped white shirt and some sweat on his forehead. wait, did this man just run a marathon? he laughed and wiped the sweat away. "it's hot in here and me and my friend aaron were wrestling" he said and i sighed out my hand over my face as he laughed again.

we were just talking when he reached his head out of the camera trying to fix something. i looked at his neck to see a light bruise. my smile faded a little and i tilted my head to see it more but it was kinda light. he came back and i acted like nothing happened.
