Your POV
"Random question, but have you seen Camila around lately?" I asked.
It's been about a week since that party happened, and I might be a little blind, but I don't really think I've seen Camila after she left my house that day. Like, I haven't seen her around in the hallways at all, I don't see her in the cafeteria, and according to John, she's been skipping practice too.
After her fight with her mother that night, I'm actually kinda scared to know what happened to her. If I interpreted it correctly, it sounded like Camila meant she's actually going to leave her house, as in not only just for that night.
My mind still hasn't fully wrapped around everything that's happened. And with everything, I mean literally everything involving Camila. From how she kissed me in her car a couple of weeks ago to... yeah, that morning after the party, when she told me about her family and cleared up some of my questions about her.
No matter how fucking terrible it sounds, I've always known her as the girl with the bad reputation, the one who had her sex tape gone viral at school, and like, all the other stuff people had spread about her. And that morning, she gave me her side of the story, the actual context to everything that's happened. It felt like everything was thrown in a 180-degree loop, but it did make sense to me in a way. The Camila I got to get close to was so sweet and simple-minded and just so fucking naive, but in a good way, and... to think so many people had taken advantage of that.
I could still hear the pain in her voice, how broken she was, how bad all these people in her life had fucked her up.
"No, I haven't seen her around," Dinah answered, cutting my on-going thoughts off.
My brain was going like a million miles per hour, so maybe it's an idea to pause it for a second and try to talk about something unrelated. "I don't think you know where she is either?"
Or maybe I just continue to dwell on this topic.
"Probably at Shawn's or something," Dinah said with a nonchalant shrug. I didn't think she would have an answer to that, but apparently, she does.
Wait, Shawn?
"Who's that?"
Dinah seemed to realize she shouldn't have said that and widened her eyes. She let out a cough, but that didn't stop me from waiting for an answer from her expectantly. Finally, she gave in. "Her ex," she explained. "Do you remember how we were talking about Canada like, two months ago? Well, he's Canada."
I honestly had no clue who this guy could be. His name rings a bell though, but it rings multiple bells. I know probably 3 Shawns and I'm not exactly close enough with any of them to know if they've dated Camila or not. And since they don't really wear their ethnicity on their sleeves either, their "code name" for him doesn't give me much of a clue either.
I could ask Dinah about him, but... eh, I don't think that's really that important right now. I'm more concerned about something else. "Why would she be with her ex though?"
Dinah gave me another shrug. "Well, I know she's kicked out of her house. The rest of her family doesn't give a shit about her, so they won't take her in. She hasn't come to me, nor to any of her cheerleader friends or anyone else at school for that matter. I honestly don't think she'd go to Austin's, so he's the only one left. And he's a nice guy, so he'll probably take her in if she's really gone to him."
"Oh."
Even though I know I had no right to be jealous, I felt... jealous. From what I know, they've broken up already though, but who knows, maybe they're back together now? I don't know.
