“What the hell?!” I shout at the two idiots in front of me.
“I’m sorry! Edward had to take you without waking up Cooper!” Matt explains.
“Don’t you mean California?” Edward taunts while smirking and elbowing me playfully.
I simply just ignore Edward. “Have you ever heard of a wonderful thing called a tap on the shoulder? And how do you even know his real name?”
“I don’t even understand why you call him California. He’s not even tan or-” Edward mumbles to himself.
“Coming from the guy who has the name of a old, sparkly vampire when in real life is a unromantic human! You know you’re a fail when that happens!” I yell at Edward, waving my finger around as if it was a sword.
The room silently turns silent with the exception of Matt’s soft giggles. A strong red invades Edwards face.
“My mom had high hopes!” Edward replies.
“Anyways.” Matt pauses to clear his throat completely. “I’ve got everything set up for you to be vaccinated. If you could just please come sit over here.”
Leaving Edward’s side, I calmly sit down at the table. Just like before, everything is set and ready to go on the silver tray. Matt carefully selects a needle from the tray. I automatically extend my arm.
“Um. This one doesn’t go in your arm...” Matt calmly says.
My eyes begin to widen. “Where does it go then?”
“Calm down! It just goes in the back of your neck.” He explains.
I calmly grab most of my hair and move it to the side. Then, I squeeze my eyes shut. A small pinch is felt in the back of my neck. I think it’s over. I slowly open my eyes and look around. Matt smiles while shaking his head.
“It amazes me how you’re scared of a tiny shot but not of deadly monsters.” He comments.
I take the time to pick at the bandage that’s behind my neck before answering. “Who says I wasn’t scared?”
“Well you do a good at not expressing it.” He admires.
Standing up and walking towards Edward, I make a last comment. “I’m more angry then scared. My craving for revenge is enough to have on my mind. There’s not much space to be worrying about the creatures that haunt this place.”
Edward opens the door and gestures me to walk through.
“Matt told me that you might get sick but that it’ll only last for a little while.” Edward informs while walking me back.
“Why didn’t he say that before he injected me?” I mutter.
All he does is shrugs his shoulders. “Crap, What time is it?” Edward quickly flicks his wrist to glance down at his watch.
“Why? Are you late for a date?” I taunt.
Edward raises his eyebrow. “No, but you’re definitely late for yours.”
His walking speed increases as we turn the corner. A group of people stand by a glass wall. They stare into it almost as if they were watching television. Somehow through the crowd, I manage to meet eyes with Tatiana.
As Edward and I get closer and closer we are able to understand her words. “Afterwards what would happen is that a select flew of the females are put into a convenient program where they learn to take care of children. This is handy because they also learn how to tend to their future child.”
