As the door slowly creaks open, I could see a large shadow casted on the carpet floor. The second I take two steps into the room, the door slams closed causing me to look back. A click is then heard.

“Avery.” Cooper breathlessly greets.

I just stand on the other side of the room blankly staring back at him.

I should’ve known it would be Cooper. I showed too much affection towards him and he did the same towards me.

“Don’t just stand there.” He mutters. “Come here”

Cooper then pulls me into a tight hug. My muscles seems to tense as he wraps his arms around me. He slowly pulls back and locks eyes with me.

“Are you okay?” He whispers.

“Y-Yeah…Perfectly fine.” I lie.

How could everything be fine? Reality just sunk in. I am either going to be dead, pregnant, or even worse one of those wild monsters. But would Cooper be capable of forcing himself on me?

“You sure?” He mutters.

I quickly nod my head to confirm.

“Well…” He pauses to sweep me off my feet and begin to carry me bridal style. “Let’s go to bed.”

With every step I can’t help but to think about his interpretation of “Let’s go to bed.” Cooper then begins to lay me down onto the double bed. My arms refuse to let go of him. I stay there, clinging on to his neck.

“What’s wrong? You’re not tired?” He questions.

I instantly let go of his neck and exhale due to relief.

“Avery?” Cooper calls out.

“Y-Yeah…” I respond softly.

“You know I would never force you to do anything with me, right?” He clarifies.

I press my lips together awkwardly. He finally caught on. A smile invades his face as he leans down and gently kisses my forehead.

“Let’s just go to sleep. It’s been a long day.” He says while slipping under the red velvet covers.

I follow him and gently drape the blankets over my body. Cooper’s eyes look back at me with a smile on his face.

“Why are you smiling?” I ask casually.

“Because of my luck.” He mutters back, his blue eyes seem to sparkle back at me. He leans in and gives me a peck on the cheek. “Goodnight.”

“Goodnight.” I whisper back at him.

I slowly close my eyes and begin to blackout.

I sat there. Stalking him. Hunting him.

The idea of his blood sliding down my throat seemed to excite me even more. That was when I couldn’t hold it back any more, I finally made my move.

It wasn’t a peaceful death. But it wasn’t a violent one either. Not a scream escaped his mouth.

I hutched over the unknown man’s lifeless body, digging my hands and teeth into his freshly cut flesh. Everything from the taste to the smell compelled me to dig deeper and deeper until there was nearly nothing left on his bones.

Sweat rolls down my forehead and cheek as I quickly sit up. Cooper lays still sound asleep in the bed. The thing I hate the most about my nightmares is that they are so realistic I get caught up and lost in them. But what bothered me the most is how much that dream didn’t bother me.
