 Nine Years Later......
Trust me this isn't the story I was expecting to be telling. But you know as well as I do that stories, like people who tell them aren't always what they seem.
A young woman swam in freezing cold water. Her ankles chained together by hand cuff. Holding her breath while blocking out the cold waters. Only a few feet away on a deep black rock shined a key. Her eyes scanned the reef of rocks for a shiny object.  She quickly dived for the key. She held the rusty piece of metal in her hands the blue colored waters reflected off it as one of the cuffs on her ankles came off; freeing her feet. She looked up at the only source of light from a small hole in the ice. The screeching of a wooden chest moved over it covering the only eacape from the frozen waters.
She swam up as fast as he legs and body could go. The young women with brown hair banged and pounded on the chest wasting her breath. Water slashing in her ear drum started to form words "MOM!! SEBASTIAN!!". Word's turned into screaming "SABASTIAN!!!!" A small girl screamed as a boy was ripped away from a girl. With one blink of a eye She saw men coming and holding a gun to their heads threatening them. Grabbing their mother by the hair with a gun on her skull.
"EL Batman" the man shouted. Gun shoots were fired and the only thing that little girl remembered was a man in a Bat-costume.
The cold slapped her to reality. With the key she held in her mouth. She undid the other cuff. She wrapped the sliver metal chain around her hand.  And started to hit the ice above her like a pix axe digging for coal over and over again hoping it would break.
"EL BATMAN" Filled her ears as she broke through the ice. The young women from Gotham gasped for air. The ice sheets froze her arms and legs as she hurled her self out. Her breathing was hard and sharp.
"Too slow" a old man with tan skin and long white magical hair stopped his timer as she came in shivering in a thick blanket; her brown hair dripped with cold water. "You covered the damn hole" she growled at him. "And you found way, own way" he shrugged "Tomorrow find Faster"
                     ~~☆~~
.  I suppose I should start here in Gotham. The famous crime fighting Vignette "Batman" some time ago founded the Justice League. A league that brings people that are different than you and well you together and protect us from intergalactic things such as Doomsday or A Joker with god-like abilities. When Batman would go on League business he left Gotham unprotected. He would leave for weeks at a time but than come back than leave again for a period of time. It divided the city. Some hoped he would stay in Gotham. Others figured he cared more about the world globally than just small crime filled Gotham. I thought he abandoned Gotham for the same reason Dick believed. He got carried away from his non-Ending Mission. A mission he placed on his adopted children's shoulders.
Crowds filled the streets of Gotham. Gates held back the crowds protesting and shouting outside Gotham P.D. with Officer Gordon with his arms crossed and look of disappointment "KEEP IT ON!! KEEP IT ON!!".  As government officials carried weapons and their search dogs sniffing around. A women not too old but not young was let out  of a heavy duty police car that looked like a van to transport inmate's  with a bird that looked alot like Nightwings blue on his chest. Her daughter followed behind her in a red dress and black leather jacket in heels. Her mother groaned at the sight of her daughter taking a selfie with a young boy on his shoulders dressed like Batman.
"How cute is this little kid?" His mother shook her head at her only   child's words "Killian, you're embarrassing me" she told him.
She made her way down the dirty old raggedy red carpet. "Excuse me Mis" a man with deep black hair and clean face started to check her for any type of metal or weapon. "This isn't beneath you,Commander" she chuckled. He replied with a chuckle of his own "well, its the only excuse I have to see my Radiant Wife". He pulled her close to him with a peck on the lips.
Concern that the Police couldn't keep order in Gotham. In a Gotham in times without Batman. My Mom's widowed Husband; my step-father; My biological  Father's  Brother started the CROWS Security with Bruce Wayne's support; My Foster Dad or Adopted Father. A private security firm that protects the people that the Dark Knight left behind for the world. And with Dick Grayson a.k.a Nightwing moved to Blüdhaven and focused on adopting strays the CROWS were the only one's protecting Gotham when the Bat was away.
"Nelson,to CROWS; Nest. North side's clear "A women stood on the roof communicating over com  to the flock "How are we out front?" Her black hair shined in the lights above her. For a brief moment nothing. She added "What's the word, Vasquez". "West side Clear". "Copy". "Good let's lock it up".
She moved to see the 'Red Carpet' with her gun underneath her arm. Sometimes I wonder why Bruce gives them the cash they need it. Especially when they do the opposite of his non-spoken rule that every Robin knows.
"Okay, how much?" She smiled. "10,000 Bucks a plate just to watch a light flip off" he rolled his eyes "must be nice". She chuckled.
It was the usual night in Gotham.  A silent night for Gotham as they waited to shut off his light. The night sky was clear;a perfect night in Gotham to see the evening stars from Wayne Manor.
"Operational leadership at its best, Agent Nelson" The Flock Master told his second in command over the com "well done" he looked up at her on top of the G.C.P.D. "My pleasure sir"
Applause banged out the wind hitting the banners and Poster's of the protest. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Tonight is about reality. Batman gave up on us. It's been about one year, Gotham" she spoke. "The Bat's more concern with Lex Luther and Superman than us. Mayor Jenkins  please help us say goodbye to Gotham's outdated tradition" she took a deep breath as her short light brown hair hit her neck and chin "Its time to turn off thru Signal".
Officer Gordon frowned at her words; Gotham's rich clapped without a care for they could afford The CROWS while everyone else had to rely on the hope that Batman will stay in Gotham. Just because Batman hasn't been seen in about a year Gotham gave up. They gave up on him.
A cop gazed up at the Bat-light high in the sky. Memories filled his head "My son stares through his bedroom window Now i have to be the one to flipped it off" he said with a pissed tone as the Mayor Said his goodbye to the Batman. Many memories of pissed Officer's mad that Batman plays by his own rules Rather than letting the police handle Gotham. He took a deep breath "Together, I invite you to gaze out at the Bat-Signal one last time" encouraged everyone.
As everyone gazed up at the sky Commander Sanchez heard in his ear "Uh, Commander Sanchez, I just lost our city surveillance". His eyes grew dark "what about the rooftop" his deep voice spoke. "Sir, we're totally blind" his eyes grew wide at her words "something's up" he thought out loud "eyes everywhere". The Comms  crackled in his ear. Commander Sanchez looked in the crowd for somthing or someone unusual. He contacted the officer's by the Bat-singal "we're starting the count down". "Copy, standing by".
    "10"
Without warning something flew in the air stabbing an officer in the throat.
   "9...8...7.."
The other officer looked around with his gun ready to fire. Behind him in the neck a knife hit him knocking him on the floor bleeding to death as the countdown continued.
   "6....5...4...3....2"
The CROWS started to flock together. While a man about 5,7 grabbed out his butterfly knife from a dead cops neck. His skin was pale white with bags under his eyes.
       "...1...."
The light stayed on "turn the light off, boys" the Mayor instructed the Police. But it stayed on. Part of Officer Gordon was relieved but another part of him was uneasy. Miss. Sanchez-Hamilton spoke softly to her husband "What's happening". He had no idea; everyone stared blankly at the bat in the sky.
A man appeared on the many screens behind Miss. Sanchez-Hamilton slitting a man's throat and said "Hello said The Mad Hatter shall we believe The C.R.O.W.S will protect us?" His milky white complexion glowed; his hat was ten inches tall with a ribbon tied around flowing with every step he took. Hisbrown hair was fluff outside the hat "heh, heh, heh a friend of mine. Well, we believe six Impossible things before breakfast.  Do you feel safe behind these security gates. Ha ha" he chuckled then the smile on his face disappeared "because one of you won't be going home tonight" his voice got deep "the C.R.O.W.S are not the hero of this story, Gotham! Batman couldn't save you and neither will they" with those words the cameras got knocked on down on the concrete; shattering the lens.  Everyone started to panic as the click of a gun echoed throughout the park. "Get these people out of here" Commander Sanchez told his men "LET'S GO. LETS GO" they all shouted. Men ran in tuxedos and women ran in heels. "Mom!?" Johnny shouted. "Mario, what the hell. Are you-" he cut his wife off from panicking "get out now. Let's go" the couple speed walking as fast as they could.
                      ~~☆~~
Agent Nelson looked around her;she looked for somthing with her gun held up to her chest. She spotted a man in a white rabbit's mask in white dirty  rags. The White Rabbit turned his head at a dark skinned officer with black hair in a ponytail. She placed her gun on her holster on her back and chased the white Rabbit. Like how Alice chased the white Rabbit down the rabbit hole. The two hopped down carefully from roof top to roof top Intel they got to the street.
Agent Nelson half turned and half stepped back, toward the door, a fluid quarter circle, shoulders and all, and like he knew they would the two guys moved toward her, faster than she was moving, off-script and involuntary, ready to grab her. Agent Nelson kept it going long enough to let their momentum establish, and then she whipped back through the reverse quarter circle toward them, by which time she was moving just as fast as they were, two hundred and fifty pounds about to collide head-on with four hundred, and he kept twisting and threw a long left hook at the left-hand guy. The Rabbit hit the ground. Agent Nelson grabbed the Rabbit by his raggy dirty white collar but little did she knew. A hare grabbed her by the hair and shoved a white cloth on her mouth and nose. Four others  dressed in rags with old broken white rabbit masks grabbed her arms and legs; restraining her from moving Intel the white powder in the cloth took effect.
.  "Nelson!!Nelson!!!"  Chef Sanchez yelled over the comm
    No one answered

.     A short women awoke in Gotham's dark, deep, nasty sewers. The smell of human waste filled the air. She looked down "what?" She breathed as she examined her red and green outfit with a "R" on her chest. She picked up the flashlight laying next to her. She carefully preceded down the long chambers of the sewer.  "Ro---" the com link in her ear when fuzzy. She quickly placed her fingertip on the com link ear piece "Bruce...Batman...Alfred!" She shouted. She repeated many times "Bruce! Batman! Nightwing! Dick! Alfred!....anyone" but no answer as she walked carefully. The more she kept walking the deeper down the tunnel of the sewer she got. Her breathing became hard and frantic as she heard a fish moving in the water. Her eyes grew wide as a fish breath amphibian growled "no one's coming for you" in her ear. She went running down the tunnel;, dropping her flashlight in the water.
.  "No..no...no...no" she cried as she came up to a dead end. She started to claw the wall frantically as a big beast came closer and closer as each second passed.
.    "HELP......HELP ME....HELP ME!!!" She screamed  at  the top of her lungs "BRUCE....DICK...ANYONE!!!" she kept slipping down the wall. She stopped as deep breathing stood in front of her. A scaley figure towers over her. His big hand lifted and swung as her face

"No" Adrienne Wayne gasped. She layed on wool and animal skin sleeping bag. A white fur blanket covered her 5'6 frame. Her breathing was short and frankic as her fingertips traced the outside hole on her left side of her head where once her left ear was. Adrienne ran her fingers through her black coloured short pixi cut (long on top and short on the sides). Sweat dripped off her back as she stood up to be greeted by the beautiful, amzing Alaskan sunset. Adrienne's black tank top was loose over her body. It's been months since she seen green grass or enjoyed a cup of herbal tea while watching the sun go to sleep with the rest of the Alaskan animals.  Adrienne walked carefully to grab some grub that the old man she was staying had prepared earlier that day.  Black pair of combat boots walked across dark pine wood floor but stopped at a wall where mirror hanged. She saw someone she couldn't recognize. A young women with one ear and one broken soul. She tucked in a sliver chain with a light and dark colored stone with pendant  Of a star underneath her shirt. "Call for you" snapped Adrienne put of her deep thoughts. The elderly man held out a old deep gray satellite phone "Boy who talk too much". "Thanks?" Adrienne replied confused as she grabbed it from him. Adrienne took a deep breath and spoke" Hello?". "Adrienne, it's Killian. You're step-brother but technically you're cousin" a high pitch voice filled Adrienne's good ear. "Killian, you're Mom and My Uncle  have been married for over a decade. I know who you are" Adrienne chuckled softly. "Oh, ok" there was this deep breath "you have to swear you won't tell anyone I'm telling you this" Killian said frantically. "Killian, take a deep breath and tell me what happened" Adrienne spoke calmly. "Mia's missing. They think some took her". Adrienne's  eyes grew wide at her cousins/step-Brother words. Long forgotten memories of two women one heart filled her mind. Her heart dropped to the underneath the ice; deep below the icy waters. She looked out of the window at the icy tundra and whisper "Wait for me im coming, wait for me"

I'd spent years traveling the world training with combat and survivalist specialists so i could join the C.R.O.W.S. I originally thought five years of Marine service would be enough for my Dad and Bruce. But I thought wrong.  Mia's disappearance brought me home early. I had to find her but first I had to convince the men the raised me that I was ready. First one is the man that i knew since I was three and half years old. Who was the only Father figure in my lifes or least the only one i remember
A black Yamaha SR400 motorcycle cruised down the streets of Gotham. Some new and some old that the women on the back driving remembers taking down Joker, Poison Ivy, Scarcrow and so much more foe's.

"C.R.O.W.S represent Oder, security, safety these monsters ling foe the good, old days" a man spoke with his short black hair. Wanted Posters filled the large screen's around the many office cubicles. "When Gangs ran around unchecked. They spread fear by saying "Look at us. We can get a C.R.O.W we can get your wife, your kid" he preached to his nest. He knew he struck a nerve with his flock. The C.R.O.W.S wore white botton up shirts, black blazers, black ties and black shoes. They looked like they've been to a funeral. "Where are we with surveillance?". "Doesn't exist sir". Commander Sanchez wasn't used to being out beat nore was he used to losing one of his own. He quickly snapped "if it were any one of you agents Nelson would not sleep until you were found!" His voice echoed throughout the room. He pushed back his hair and regained composer "let's bring her home". Everyone got back to work. Going over footage and anything that linked to this kidnapping.
Commander Sanchez started to walk up to his office but he stopped in his tracks. For once in the past 56 hours he stopped for a moment to breath. He saw a women with black pixie cut short on the sides long on top. She wore a black leather jacket with his old AC/DC shirt he gave her but more like she stole from his closet. Black pair of jeans and black combat boots. She looked grown. "Adrienne" he breathed out. Her blue green eyes stared back at him "Hi,Uncle" she replied. Adrienne was like a ghost. A breath of fresh air.
They stood in what seemed to be like slow motion. He couldn't have been more proud to see the kid he practically raised infront of him. He opened his arms wide "Come here, kiddo". She couldn't help but hug him. A man she hadn't seen since she was seventeen years old.  His arms warped around her. Adrienne found comfort and a sense of home. A place she hated with a passion was the place she called home. Commander Sanchez felt whole once again filled with> pride but when he noticed bis childs missing ear brought him to reality.  It brought back that night nine years ago in Gotham.
