Five years ago a soldier sat in her bed. Her blanket was nicly folded at the end and all of her stuff was in a small shoebox. "Go fish" officer Nelson smirked behind her ripped and faded playing cards. The officer next to her held a box and a note teped on top of it. Everyone wore the same army green t-shirt and issued the same camouflage jacket and tan boots. But on the officer opening up a letter on her dog tag hanging off her neck read: Adrienne Wayne.
"Hey, Wayne whatcha got there" all of her friends looked at her as Adriennes lips moved as her eyes hit the words of ink. Instantly one of the other females read her callges expression "everything okay at home" .Adrienne saw him sitting at his small desk in the Manor with an old desk lamp as his only source of light. Using his favorite blue ink pen with Alfred's cookies filling the air with sweetness he was writing

My Dearest little sis , it's almost June. I hope this letter catches up with you;And finds you well
It's been dry, but they're callin' for rain. And everything's the same old same in Gotham. The stubborn old Bat  Ain't said too much. But I'm sure you know. He sends his love and he goes on In a letter from home.  Adrienne nodded and held  it up and show her buddies. Like they ain't scared And their boots ain't muddy. And they all laugh. Like there's something funny
'Bout the way she talk when she say,s "Bro sends the Butler's cookies , y'all" she folded it up and put it in her shirt pick up her gun and get back to work. And it keeps her drivin' on waitin' on letters from home.

.  Dear Master Adrienne,

it's almost dawn;  I've been sitting  here all night long
Wonderin' where you might. I was cooking dinner and  AMan on the television said something
So I couldn't sleep. But I'll be alright,
I'm just missing late night poker and you. The whole manor changed when you left. Of course you know that Master Bruce spends his regards.

. And he goes on

in a letter from home

I hold it up and show my buddies
Like we ain't scared
And our boots ain't muddy
And they all laugh
'Cause he sends her honey and tea, But they take it hard 'cause she don't read the good parts. Adrienne folded it up and put it in her shirt and got back to work
And it keeps her drivin' on
Waitin' on letters from home.

Life continues on even of a Soldiers away from home. While Adrienne made and lost friends she learned that Dick moved out from the manor and Tim became Red Robin and left the Robin suit at home.  Sometimes at night she could see the Bat-Family no matter where they were sitting on a rooftop looking down at the city they protected for years.
Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into Months. Months truned into a year. Bruce sat alone in his office looking down at Gotham. Near a photograph of Alfred, Dick, Tim, Adrienne and him in a black frame he got for Fathers day a few years ago had an envelope ripped open with a letter in his daughter's handwriting one word stuck out like a sore thumb
Afghanistan so you might not hear from me for awhile
. A pen and Paper sat on the desk with

    Dear Mis. Wayne

Adrienne Wayne

Wayne

Robin

Nína

Kid

Adopted Kid of Mine
.

Written at the top. Bruce sat down and tossed that paper in his trash bin. Then he started to jot down the smallest thing you could ever write to a soldier away from home. He scratched his head and licked shut an envelope.

Office Wayne hopped off a truck her uniform full of dust and sand. A dog followed behind her in a vest and his collar jiggled as the dog walked. Adrienne took a sip of tea with honey and continued to unload supplies when a comrade handed her a envelope. At first glance she recognized the handwriting.  As she carefully unfolded it she breathed out a sigh. Adrienne had sent many letters to her Family back at home Dick, Killian and Alfred replied.  Her faced startes to leak as her hazel blue eyes read every word of ink.
She held it up and show her buddies. Like they ain't scared
And our boots ain't muddy
But no one laughs
'Cause there's ain't nothin' funny
When a soldier cries
And Adrienne  wipe her eyes. She folded it up and put it in her shirt. Pick up her gun and get back to work. "Adrienne are you okay" Officer  asked her. Adrienne shook her head and told her "I'm fine". And it keeps her drivin' on. Waitin' on letters from home.
