U.A was not any better than Izuku's old school. It was only the first day, and people had already spread rumors about the General Studies monster.

He was sat behind the purple haired boy from the exams, meaning he had failed the hero exams. Izuku felt sympathy for him. His quirk was probably just not suited to the exams.

He found it disappointing that everything revolved around quirks.

But, what could he do?

No one would listen to a monster like him.

Izuku sighed softly as he stared at the fluffy purple mess in front of him. He had already finished all his work, the way he usually did. His talons clicked on the floor, searching for something to grab onto. He ended up grabbing the metal polls that held up the desk. The metal was cool against his foot pads, which felt nice.

Eventually, the bell rang, signaling that it was lunch time. Izuku released his grip on the polls, and stood up. He was tempted to stretch his wings out, but he knew better. His wingspan was twice his height, and there was no way he'd be able to without whacking someone in the face. So his wings would remain cramped for awhile longer. Until he could get back home, at least. At home was the only place where he could be himself. At home was the only place where he was allowed to use his monstrous body to its full extent. Anywhere else, there was the chance of him hurting someone. But at home, his room was adapted to his quirk.

Izuku groaned miserably, trudging along to the cafeteria.

He scratched at his scaly arms, his claws and scales scraping against eachother. He got in line for his lunch, avoiding eye contact. When it was his turn, Izuku ordered some white rice for himself.

Izuku took the tray, and scanned the cafeteria for an empty table. Unfortunately, there wasn't one. If he went anywhere near someone else's table, they'd glare at him, warning him off. In the corner of the room, he saw the purple haired boy sitting alone.

He walked up to the table, nervous. "Uhm, hey.. could I... sit here?" Izuku mumbled. The purple haired boy looked at him, suspicious. "Why? What would you get out of it?"

Izuku flinched at the venom in his voice. The same tone everyone else talked to him with. Izuku looked down at his talons nervously, and said "o-oh, um.. w-well n-no one e-else will let m-me sit w-with them, b-because of m-my mutations.. I-I j-just hoped th-that m-maybe I-I c-could s-sit here a-and you s-seemed pretty lonely.. I-I'm s-sorry for b-bothering you..."

The purple haired boy rolled his eyes, "fine, you can sit here."

Izuku's eyes lit up, and he gave a bright smile. "Thank you so much!! You won't regret it!!"

Most days went similarly. Izuku would be ignored or teased, he'd finish all his work early, he'd eat lunch with the purple haired boy, go to the rest of his classes, and go home.

He had learned that the purple haired boy was named Shinsou. Shinsou didn't like to talk to people much, but he would somewhat talk to Izuku. Shinsou also didn't get enough sleep at night.

Izuku didn't know what Shinsou's quirk was, but he didn't mind. The only thing Shinsou knew about his quirk was that Izuku had mutations. And neither one of them were comfortable talking about their quirks. So it was alright.

While he was still bullied, he had never been happier. He actually had a friend!

Izuku glided around his room, giggling happily. He dove into the tank that was recently installed in his room, for his gills and fins. He swam around the tank, his body bending and curling in ways that normally shouldn't be possible. Except he was able to move like that because of his quirk.

Honestly, it was fun to Izuku. Sure, he was dangerous. He knew that. But, that didn't make it any less fun too be able to do all the things he could.

Most people would probably consider his playing as childish, but he really didn't care. Izuku's body was supposed to do these kinds of things. Otherwise, why would it be his quirk?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Shinsou would admit, having a new "friend" was definitely nice. Air quotes around friend, because Shinsou suspected that Izuku would leave him when he learned about his villainous quirk.
But, it would be ok while it lasted.
Midoryia seemed like a nice person, but people always hated him after they learned of his quirk. Midoryia wouldn't be any different. Even with his mutant quirk.
And besides, Shinsou planned to transfer to the Hero Course through the Sports Festival, so he wouldn't see much of the boy afterwards anyway.
Although, he admittedly hoped that Midoryia would stay his friend.
The boy was like a ray of sunshine and positivity when he wasn't a studdering mess.
Sorry this one is a bit shorter, I couldn't come up with anything else for this chapter.
