While everyone was out partying and hanging out during our free week, I was at the library. Working. I was learning how to use the systems and categorize books and information. I worked front desk and would occasionally go put away books.

I was earning seven dollars and twenty five cents an hour at 20 hours a week. The pay was decent enough for the work so I can't complain.

A little after my shift, I walked back to my dorm. It was dark out seeing that it was already a little after 10. I pulled out my phone and called Shadow as I walked. It was only a ten minute walk to my dorm, but a bitch was scared.

"(Y/n), how nice it is to hear your voice on this lonely night. Whatcha up to?"he asked. "Well, I just left the library. I was calling because I'm walking alone and terrified,"I said. "Damn, don't even wanna have a real conversation with me?"he asked. I giggled. "Yes, I do. How was your day?"I asked.

"It was okay. I unpacked my last box and I am officially moved in,"he said. "That's great! I hope you get a lot of rest. You know, with classes starting tomorrow,"I reminded him.

"Yeah, I know. You should be getting rest too. I wouldn't want you falling asleep during a lecture."

"I got this, Shadsy,"I smiled. Shadow chuckled softly. His voice was so peaceful and soothing.

We talked the whole way to my dorm until I got to my door. I tried to open it but it was...locked? But not like with a key. More like it was jammed. I called Rouge who answered the phone breathless.

"Y-Yes?"

"Um...are you asleep? The door is stuck or something. I need you to open it from the inside."

"Oh shoot! I'm so sorry! I forgot to text you!"

"Why? What happened?"I asked. "Well...Knuckles is here. I snuck him in for the night and we're...kinda busy. I thought maybe you could stay with Shadow tonight?"she said, her voice hopeful.

I sighed heavily. "Fine! But you so owe me. I'm talking big time. Just give me my charger and I'll call Shadow,"I said. "Thank you, thank you, thank youuuu!"she squealed. The phone cut out and seconds later only her hand reached out the door. She handed me my charger then slammed the door shut.

Geez.

I called Shadow and he agreed to let me stay the night. When I made it to his apartment, he opened the door and he stood in the doorway...shirtless...and in boxers. My chaos. Never had I see such magnificence. Shadow wasn't super toned but I'll admit...he has a NICE body. I didn't want to necessarily look, but it was hard to keep eye contact.

"Hey, you little perv. Eyes up here,"Shadow grinned. I slipped past him, trying to hide my blush. "Can't help it. Never seen something so small,"I said. "Ouch!"he hissed clutching his chest and closing the door.

I grinned back at him before slipping my bag off my shoulder and sighing softly. "I made up the guest room for you. The air conditioning is a little wonky so there's extra blankets if you need any,"he said. "Thank you and thanks for letting me stay,"I said.

Shadow walked over and ruffled my hair. "No problem. I'll get you some warm clothes to change into. Want to take a shower?"he asked. "Yes, please. I'll be out of your fur in the morning. I'll leave around ten so I can get my clothes and books and grab breakfast,"I said.

"There's honestly no rush. You can stay as long as you want. My classes don't start till twelve,"Shadow replied. I went to the guest room and put my bag on the floor beside the bed. I plugged up my phone. Shadow came in and gave me one of his tshirts and pair of sweatpants.

I went to the bathroom and took a quick, hot shower before going back to the guest room I climbed into bed and snuggled under the blankets. It was a little cold but it was fine with the heavy comforter.

Shadow peeked his head into the room. "You good?"he asked. I nodded, smiling. "This bed is super comfy." "Oh really? Guess I'll just have to try it out,"he grinned, strolling in. He climbed over me into the other side of the bed and got under the blanket.

"Wow. It's really comfortable. Guess I'll sleep here tonight,"he said, closing his eyes. I rolled my eyes and put my cold feet on him. He jumped and opened his eyes. "Fine, fine. I'll go to my own room. I can see I'm not wanted here,"he fake pouted, getting up.

I giggled. "Goodnight, Shadow." He looked back at me from the door and smiled. "Goodnight, (Y/n)."

The next morning, I woke up at 10. I changed back into my jeans and short sleeve shirt before grabbing my bag and heading into the living room. Shadow was already up, making breakfast. "Morning. I didn't make much. Just some eggs, pancakes, and coffee,"he said.

"Thank you. You really didn't have to,"I said, taking a seat at his little table. He brought over my cup of coffee and plate of food. Then he brought his over and sat in front me.

He wore a gray v-neck T-shirt with some light blue ripped jeans, and his regular white, black, and red shoes. "I've got to get all the way across campus for class today so I'm gonna ride my motorcycle. I'll give you a lift back to your dorm,"he said. I nodded.

Breakfast was great. Shadow gave me a ride back to my dorm. I climbed off the bike and handed him my helmet. "Thanks. I'll catch you around,"I smiled, turning to head inside. "Hey, wait,"he said. I turned back to him.

"You wanna maybe...eat dinner together tonight? I can bring it by the library and we can eat on your break. It'll be our little date."

I blushed and smiled. "Date?" "Well, yeah. We probably won't be able to see each other much in the evening with you working and me starting training with GUN. Why not have a date?"

I pretended to hesitate. "Hmmm...I dunno. The library gets prettyyyy busy at night,"I said. "No it doesn't, shut up,"he smiled. I giggled. "Sure, Shadow. You can come by around 7:30."

"Great. See you then,"he smiled.
