The wedding happened three months ago and I have been a married woman since then. I can remember how nervous I felt after I was taken to my husband's house after the ceremonies were completed,  my sisters kept on teasing and pulling my legs which wasn't helping me either.  But I have gotten better through the weeks and I thank Allah for the kind of man I married.

" So what is my beautiful wife thinking about " sa'id whispered.

" You frightened me" I said slightly hitting him on his chest.

" Sorry my love,  I have been  back for a few minutes now and you were so lost that you didn't notice me"

" Welcome back,  so how was work"

He threw his head back and laughed lightly " so you won't tell me why you were lost in thought"

" Oh about that I was thinking about how lucky I am to be your wife"

" I am truly honored,  but come to think of it marriage has made you mushy" he said winking at me.

" Hmmmmm,  enough said. Go shower while I heat up dinner"

" Yes ma" he said pecking me.

I went into the kitchen to warm dinner of jollof rice and sauced beef. After setting the table,  sa'id  came down and we ate together after which he helped out with the dishes.

We were watching TV afterwards when sa'id decided to be naughty.

We were currently on our way to sa'id family house his senior sister just had her first baby early this morning.  I had packed up some really nice pepper soup and boiled potatoes for her,  sa'id some gift for her and the baby on his way back from work.  When we got to the house we were greeted by a large crowd of people at the entrance laughing and eating.  sa'id face had a frown at the sight of the crowd.
"How in God's name did this crowd generate" he murmured so low.  I could tell he was pissed
" it is a good news habibi, your sister just gave birth.  You don't expect this place to be quiet"
" I don't expect here to be quiet but I expect them to come visit, say some prayers for the baby and the new mom and give them some space to rest"
" it is okay babe,  hmm. Okay what about we go in and see mom then you can air your grievances"
He nodded and we came down from the car,  greeting the visitors at the entrance we went into the house.
"Salamualakum umma" we greeted when we saw her in the kitchen.
" Amarya yaya"
" Lafiya umma, here I brought some food for adda jidda"
" ahh you just saved me from a whole lot of stress,  I was about to cook some pepper soup for her before you came in. This one your husband face is long I hope he didn't eat something bitter" she whispered the last part.
" No umma"  I couldn't help but smile
" sa'id I hope you are okay" she asked him
'' umma with the amount of noise the visitors are making how will the baby and adda rest"
" ooo is that why you have a long face, there is nothing I or anyone can do about that.  Do you expect me to chase people who came to celebrate with us? Don't worry your sister is getting enough rest kinji this shouldn't bother you. Now you can go and see her"

He sighed as he left to see her

"With the way sa'id is doing when you have a baby I think he will look the door of his house to avoid disturbance " umma said as she laughed.
I helped her dish the food into a smaller plate and took it to adda room . The room smelled so divine from all the baby things and when I saw sa'id rocking the baby my heart literally melted.  It was an adorable sight. He gave me the baby as he left to use the restroom. And I swear my heart leaped for joy,  she looked so heavenly and so small.
"Ya Allah,  gift me mine soon so I could feel the joy that comes with been a mother" I prayed  silently.
