The Emperor and the first Prince stared at the two individuals in front of them. The second prince was standing next to a green-haired man with feminine looks.
"What is going on, Athanasius? Who is he?" The Emperor said as he looked at the green-haired boy.
Athanasius smirked mischievously. "Father, brother, this is Enkidu, my knight."
The Emperor hummed with a bored look on his face while Anastacius was trying not to laugh.
"Where did he come from?" The Emperor asked.
"Oh, he's from last night's auction." Athanasius said with a serene smile.
The Emperor and the first prince, blinked.
The Emperor narrowed his eyes at the second Prince. "You went to an auction?"
Athanasius nodded while smiling serenely. "You did say I needed a knight. So here's the knight."
The Emperor's eye twitched. "I see. Very well. There's going to be ball tonight. don't forget to attend." He looked at Enkidu. "And also bring him with you."
"Of course, father." Athanasius said before leaving with Enkidu.

Nighttime - Ballroom
Athanasius looked at the ball with a bored expression on his face. The only reason he was not skipping was that Enkidu and Claude were with him. Well, Athanasius had to drag Claude to the ball. If he was attending the stupid ball then he sure as hell would drag Claude with him as well. So that he can join his misery as well after he had the audacity to smirk at him for going to the ball.
Claude was annoyed and kept glaring daggers at the second Prince who dragged him here with a mocking smirk. Sometimes he really hated Athanasius more than the crown prince. And this was one of them.
Two women courtesied before Athanasius and Claude. "Blessings and glories upon Obelia Empire."
"Greetings your highness, my name is Princess Sansa." The ravenette said.
"And My name is Penelope Judith." The brunette said.
Athanasius scowled at the greedy looks in their eyes. Disgusting.
Athanasius glared down coldly at Sansa and Penelope in front of him. "I do not speak with mongrels or whores. Get lost before I slaughter you where you stand, mongrel!"
Sansa and Penelope trembled at the fiery crimson jewelled eyes.
Claude looked at the brunette coldly. He had seen his brother sleeping with the whore that night. How naive he was to ignore Athanasius's warning of the brunette. He should've listened to his brother before he was played like a fool.
Enkidu glared at Penelope and Sansa. "If you hurt Athan I'll kill you!"
"Leave." Athanasius said coldly.
The two women left the Princes quickly before they would get killed.
"It seems you've denied yet another candidate little brother." A voice said next to Athanasius.
Athanasius scowled at the owner of the voice. "I do not waste my time on mongrels, unlike you, eldest brother." He looked at the smirking first Prince.
Anastacius chuckled. "You realize father will act if you don't decide soon."
Athanasius glared coldly at Anastacius. "I will slaughter them all. Even if it means sparking a war. I will slaughter empires if it means to avoid mongrels such as them." He narrowed his eyes when he saw him glaring at Claude. "And stay away from Claude, or I'll kill you, eldest brother!" Athanasius said as his crimson eyes glowed with power.
A cold sweat went down Anastasius's back.
"We're leaving, Claude, Enkidu." Athanasius said as he ushered them away from the scowling crown Prince.
Damn you, Athanasius. Anastacius gritted his teeth.

Athanasius frowned when he was reminded yet again of Anastasius's change of behaviour. He went from tolerable to nuisance. Their brotherly relationship was shattered. As Athanasius distanced himself from Anastacius, his relationship with his younger brother Claude changed for the better. The two seemed to care more about each other. Claude had always been more closest to the second Prince who always took care of him, unlike the maids and his parents. In a way, Athanasius was his brother and father figure at the same time.

Claude's Room
After the ball was finished, Athanasius visited Claude in his bedroom to inform him of his leaving the Empire after the orders of the Emperor.
Athanasius knocked on Claude's door.
"Who is it?" Claude said.
"It's me. Can I come in?" Athanasius said.
"Yes."
Athanasius opened the door and walked inside.
Claude looked up from where he was reading a book. "Did you need something?"
Athanasius sighed. "I'm leaving tomorrow with Enkidu on father's orders. I have to visit the army to see how they are. It shouldn't take more than two weeks at most."
Claude frowned. "I see."
"While I'm gone I need you to be careful of Anastacius. He has changed. I've heard from my spies that he's doubling in dark magic. While I'm here, I can protect you with my magic but when I'm gone, I can't. That is why I've got this bracelet for you. It will protect you from any dark magic towards you." Athanasius said as he handed Claude a bracelet.

Claude's eyes widened. "Thank you, big brother."
"You're welcome." Athanasius ruffled his hair. "Take care of yourself, little brother."
Claude nodded.
Athanasius smiled before leaving.

"Are we leaving now?" Enkidu asked.
"Yes. Are you ready?" Athanasius said as he mounted the black stallion.
"Yes," Enkidu said as he mounted the white stallion.
