Chapter : 16

Autumn, Edward, Jack and Grace all went to a restaurant and had dinner. Autumn and Grace were enjoying the dinner while chin-wagging but, the whole time Jack had his eyes on Edward instead of the food on his plate.

Grace was asking questions to Edward to know more about him politely, contrary to that Jack was also asking him questions as if Edward was some kinda culprit and Jack was investigating him.

You said you worked in visuals team of Edward right?*Jack asked him while looking right into his eyes*

Ye..yes*Edward hesitated*

I didn't know that visuals team people also go on tours with the Artist, do they, ?*Jack asked*

I'm just asking if anyone knows. You know Edward what I mean right?*He stated*

I actually help edit his music and tour videos as well *Edward said*

But I thought tour videos are usually uploaded after the tour so why need to travel with the artist everywhere?*Jack asked*

Well. Sometimes they do live streams so it's my duty to make everything look good to the audience watching the live stream at home without any graphics issue*Edward said confidently this time*

Are you out of your mind Jack? Why are making him feel uncomfortable?*Grace said*

I was going to say that as well *Autumn said and looked at Jack angrily*

Well I was being a little curious and you know we all studying visual effects, animations *Jack said*

And it's totally fine, I don't think he was making me feel uncomfortable at all *Edward said*

After finishing the dinner Autumn decided to go back home while Grace and Jack decided to go to Grace's house to ask her mother for permission for a night out as it was next to impossible to convince Grace's mother via phone call.

Grace, Jack and Autumn were about to leave but Edward asked Autumn if he might get the opportunity to walk her back home.

Autumn agreed without giving it a second thought but there was someone who gave his idea a second thought and it was none other than Jack. He had a feeling that Edward wasn't a bad guy but he couldn't avoid the fact that he was hiding something.

Autumn and Edward started walking back home together as Jack and Grace chose the other way.

Autumn and Edward walked together and didn't say a word for a while totally avoiding looking at each other.

Tho I still I don't think that Jack was making me feel uncomfortable but why that situation made you angry Autumn?*Edward asked her and broke the silence*

I.. I don't know, I think it was a very natural reaction *she said*

Why?*she asked*

Nothing, it feels good when someone cares, like for real *He said*

Come on!*she said and held his hands while smiling*

After walking for a while Edward stopped and looked at Autumn.

Autumn, I think I've developed feelings for you *He said quickly*

I.. I don't wanna force anything, I just feel like you understand me and we go along quite well, we..we've been talking for a month and to be honest Autumn. I feel I've started to think positive and it..it helps me so much and *Edward said quickly and paused and looked at Autumn*

ah! I think I just messed up *He said and looked away*

No, you didn't*Autumn said while putting her hand on his shoulder*

Edward turned around and looked at her in awe.

Even I feel so relaxed so happy whenever I talk to you and because of you, I was able to do my best in these exams. *She said*

I don't know how you're not able to motivate yourself when you've truly positive vibe. *she said and held his hands*

It is you, Edward, who helped through this tough time. Well, exams are normal but trust me I was stressed and worried.
And it was you who helped me. Even tho we barely know each other but I feel connected*She said*

Edward smiled at her and sighed.

And that's why I think.. We should spend some more time together, to know each other. I think we are perfect for each other and being together, being with you. I mean *Edward said but Autumn interrupted him and said*

" Listen, Edward, I do like you, I really like you a lot but.. I mean I know we are not giving commitment to each other now but I'm a very very emotional person when it comes to my loved once. *She said in a low voice*

I cannot afford to lose them, and then I feel like I force them to..i don't know to understand me, to understand my love for them. I feel like I behave insanely. I care for people but I think too much care is toxic.*Autumn said*

You've been in a really bad relationship before, haven't you?*Edward asked her*

Autumn looked at him and said "I don't know if you can call it a Relationship"*Scoffs*

You never dated anyone?*Autumn asked him as they started walking again*

I have been in this industry for 10 years now Autumn. I had a one-sided love in school I confessed and we kinda began dating and I used to have a lot of family issues because of financial
problems*Edward begins telling his story but quickly realised the fact that he was telling the truth, that he was telling the past story of Eric and not Edward.
He quickly began making up a false story not to mess up things between them.

Edward! Edward! *Autumn said*

You were saying?*She asked*

Yeah, I mean I've financial issues and things weren't too good between us because of that and at a very young age I started working and now I work of Mr.Anderson *He sighed as he didn't like lying to her*

Yeah and that's why I'm saying*Autumn was about to say something but Edward's phone started buzzing.

He takes out the phone but realised it was his real phone and not that one he uses to talk to Autumn and dropped it out of nervousness

How can you afford to drop such an expensive phone, Edward? *Autumn said and picked up his phone to give it back to him*

That's..that's..not my phone, it's a business phone, the company gave this mobile phone to every umm.. everyone who is on tour with Eric *he lied quickly*

He took out the other mobile phone while putting back the first one in his pocket

You've an interview in an hour, Peter is waiting for you at the bus station. Don't turn off your location until you're here okay?*Susan texted him*

How far is your home?*Edward asked*

There *she said and pointed at her house at they were almost there*

Good, I need to go right now, it's urgent, I'll explain everything to you tomorrow for sure, take care Autumn *He said started walking fast while looking at his phone to see if he was on the right way towards the nearby bus station*

Ed..okay bye *Autumn said in a low voice as Edward was already gone*

But there was someone who had his eyes on Edward.
