Chapter 2

Akari walked into her house and was greeted by a hug from her mom. She looked up to find her mom in tears.

"What's wrong mom?" She asked. Her mother wiped away her tears.

"I thought you ran into trouble when you didn't come home." She answered. Akari looked at the clock and noticed that it was 4 PM. She should've been home by 2.

"I did the Shadow clone Jutsu for the exam and had to wait for the end of the last test to go talk to the Hokage. I sensed an Anbu and glanced at him. He was surprised and probably thought it was a coincidence but wasn't sure. He waved and I just nodded in acknowledgment. After that the Hokage noticed and he decided that I won't be with a team. Instead, I'll be training with an Anbu." Akari explained. Himari was startled.

Akari might be training with an Anbu! She needs to pass the bell test but still! Himari smiled. "I'm so proud of you for becoming a Genin!" She didn't mention the rest since she knew her daughter didn't want to talk about it yet.

"Thanks mom. When is my little brother due again?" Akari asked. She was curious.

"He's due in a week! You're going to be a big sister!" Her mother exclaimed. For the first time in a while, Akari took off her mask and smiled. Her mother's eyes softened and she kissed Akari on the cheek. "Your father is coming back soon and you can tell him everything once he comes back."

Himari turns away from her and went outside to see the sky. Akari put away her shoes and walked out to the training ground of their house. She stretched and did her usual workout. She ran 20 laps around the training without stopping with the weights she always had on. It had reached 100 pounds the other day and she was thinking about getting new ones. She did pushups, sit-ups, pullups, and squats for 30 minutes and took a small break before telling her mother she was going out. She walked out of her house while putting her mask on and walked to the Uchiha compound.

I should buy a Katana. She thought. The Uchiha compound usually had the best weapons because some of them were experts in weapon construction. She had seen their weapon shop before when she was out with her father. They had chakra blades where you could infuse your chakra into the weapon. She could only afford one with her allowance and now, she was planning to get her first katana. I'll ask Bassui for his opinion. She had known the man for a while since she came by each week to look at the weapons.

After 10 minutes of walking, she entered the shop that was in the compound and heard the bell ring above her head.

"Good Afternoon Akari! I see that you have become a genin. Congratulations!" Bassui exclaimed. He stood up from his seat to hug me. He had long brown hair with a clean beard. He was a large man with muscles and was always happy to see a regular. "I remember when you came here the first time with your father! Do you want a Katana? A tanto?" Akari looked at him.

"Can you show me the katanas?" Bassui nodded and brought her over to all of his best katanas.

"Do you want one with a chakra blade or do you want a normal one?"

"Chakra blade." She replied bluntly. She felt a familiar chakra signature nearby. Akari didn't bother looking towards the door and wasn't surprised when the bell's ringing filled the shop.

"Akari. I see that you have become a genin now. Good job." Fugaku Uchiha said neutrally. He was still his Police Force uniform.

"Thank you Ojisan," She replied in the same expression. Himari, Sakumo, and Akari had dinner with Fugaku and his wife, Mikoto last year and Akari was a niece to him. Akari thought of him as her uncle as well.
