Chapter 4

Aubrey's P.O.V

"Oh my gosh, guys I can't breathe." I say as my friends are literally killing me with their hugs.

"Well enjoy it while it lasts, who knows if we would be together like this forever." Ariana says as we stop hugging.

Come to think of it, I really don't remember the last time I was part of a group hug. I'm just really familiar with the feeling of a one-on-one hug mainly from Ariana.

"Yeah, you're right."

"What matters is that we are all here." Mason says smiling.

"Yes, you guys are here and I wouldn't trade that for anything. Mason I'm glad you're back, there's a lot to talk about." Ariana says smiling.

"Really? Why don't you start filling me in."

"I can do that, but, how about Bree does that for you." Ariana says grinning.

This is really unfair and shameful. It didn't take time for Ariana to recognise him but it did for me yet I've been claiming to have had a long lasting crush on him.

Oh gosh!!!

"Oh are we talking about Cameron?" Mason says smirking.

"Wait, how did you know?" Ariana says sadly as Mason gestures to me.

"Ugh...Bree you should have waited for me before telling him." Ariana sighs heavily.

"I'm sorry, but, you need to be around more. It was inevitable." I say with a shrug.

"Yeah yeah. But what was funny about the situation was that she couldn't even recognise him from the start." Ariana replies giggling.

"No way, she still has bad memory?" Mason says chuckling.

"No I don't. It really wasn't my fault, he looked way too different. You can go see for yourself." I say impatiently.

"Mace, trust me when I say that he looks almost the same. What makes him a little bit different is just his height and voice. And the best part is that he obviously recognised her as well but she still introduced herself. It was the funniest thing ever." Ariana says laughing.

"But yet she's still in love with someone she couldn't recognise at first, interesting." Mason says laughing.

Yeah I know, I'm ashamed as well. You don't have to rub it in.

"Do you think he's still at the party? I want to say hi." Mason continues looking around.

"He should be. Let's get out of here." I say as we head back to the party.

When we went back down to the party, we noticed that the party had become something else. Wasted bodies everywhere, red solo cups and beer bottles everywhere, drinking contests and truth or dare games. The dance floor was filled with make out sessions. I knew for a fact that I really didn't want to be at this party anymore.

"Who else wants to leave the party?" I ask irritated.

"Me." Mason says.

"This isn't fair, I just got here. You haven't even been here that long." Ariana says annoyed.

"Well I have been here for a while, and I'm bored already. If you guys need me, I'll be outside." Mason says walking out.

"I'm also not feeling this party. I think we should go to my house and watch a movie or something. So are you coming or not?" I question.

"Fine let's go. But the next party we're going to, we're staying till the end." Ariana says smiling.

"Deal."

We end up going to my house but debating on what to watch in the car.

"You guys, I vote for anything romance. Something that will inspire us to start dating." Ariana says driving.

"I didn't come back to this city to watch romance movies with you guys. I vote for horror. Netflix has the best horror movies. Interesting but scary." Mason says grinning.

"Horror is definitely out of the question. My Mom is probably at home. She will literally kick us out of the house if we keep shouting."

"So action genre?" Mason questions.

"I don't know how you guys like watching unrelatable movies, but alright."

The rest of the ride to my house was just us singing to Ariana's playlist. I definitely missed this. Car sing along was me, Ariana and Mason's favourite things to do when we were little. Ariana and I could hardly continue it when Ariana got a car for her sixteenth birthday, because it brought back memories.

"You didn't tell me that you guys moved to a new house, it's really close to the apartment we're staying at." Mason says as we enter the driveway.

"Really? So we can visit anytime?" I ask smiling.

"I'm sure my Mom would love to have you guys over." Mason replies smiling.

"I'm feeling hungry already. Let's get going." Ariana says as we get out of the car.

"I hope Avery is asleep though, unless we won't be able to have Mason to ourselves." I say trying to find my keys.

"I missed her too honestly, but tonight is for both of you." Mason says as we get inside.

"Mom I'm home!!!"

"Yeah I know, I could hear your voices from the driveway. Mason!!!!" My Mom screams as Mason walks up to hug her.

"How are you doing Mrs. Winters?"

"I'm fine. You've grown so much. Your Mom didn't tell me that you were visiting. Is she around also?"

"Actually we're staying." Mason says with a sheepish grin.

"No way!!! How could Laura keep such a thing from me? Aubrey we're going visiting tomorrow." My mom says.

"Actually my mom wanted it to be a surprise that's why. I didn't even think that I'd have ran into Aubrey today." Mason says smiling.

"Okay Mason. But I'm serious about visiting eventually though. Were you guys able to get a place or are you staying at an hotel?"

"We actually got an apartment which fortunately isn't far from here. Its just a walk actually."

"Really? That's even better. Glad to have you back. This two really missed your presence."

"It's good to be back ma'am."

"So tell me why you guys are back early. The party started by six and it's barely even eight yet."

"Well actually, we wanted to come home and watch a movie with Mason. He just came back and we felt that the best way to catch up was away from a party." I say smiling.

"Okay then. I'm going to sleep, you guys should try your best to be quiet. Aubrey when Ariana and Mason leave, remember to lock the front door. Your brother should be back by then." My mom says heading upstairs.

"Okay, Goodnight." I shout.

"I might come back out later though. But goodnight." My Mom replies.

"Goodnight Mrs. Winters." Mason and Ariana choruses.

"Night!!!" My Mom responds.

"Okay so have we decided what we're watching?." Ariana questions.

"Yup, I vote for action as well." I say grinning.

"Well then I have the perfect Netflix movie. Mission possible." Mason says sitting on the couch.

"You guys are annoying, but whatever." Ariana says sitting next to him.

"I'm down for it," I say plopping myself next to Ariana.

And with that, we pay full attention to the movie.
