I slowly looked up at the door tiling my head some. “Who is it?” I spoke out loudly.

“Diamond, open the door,” a familiar voice said. It only took more a couple of seconds to realize it was Karmen. I unlocked the door and frowned a little as she stood there an concerned expression on her face. “Hey, what’s up with you? Everyone has been looking for you and everything.” She said coming in. “I’m fine, I’ve been here the whole time.” I sighed as I gently kicked a box. “Unpacking.” “Cool it looks nice in here but, are you ready to go play some volleyball?” She asked cheerfully. “Oh you know I’m not good, I just want to go and watch the guys and stuff I guess.” I said putting my last shirt in the drawer. Her smile dropped, “I don’t know how to play either Diamond, just go and try don’t be lazy!” She said opening the door again. “Okay, okay, I’m going anyway god.” We both walked down the stairs and out the door to a beautiful breeze. I could hear a lot of people. “Wait for me, bitches!” Michelle yelled from behind us. “It’s cool, just walk past me like you don’t know me.” She taunted as she caught up to us. “I did not see you.” I said shaking my head and laughing. “Were going to volleyball, want to play?” Karmen asked her. “Sure, there’s probably some victims I can take advantage of down here.” I laughed and rolled my eyes at her comment as we got closer.

Once we made it to the courts we met up with Brandy and Heather and had a smile girlfriend reunion full of non-stop talking for a good ten minutes. “Where’s Trent?” I asked glancing up at Heather as I sat back on the bench more. “He’s down there playing volleyball already,” She said pointing down to where guys were playing. I put a hand over my eyes shielding them from the bright lights above the sand pit as I scanned all of the guys.

And then, I saw him. That guy, it couldn’t be. I sat up more squinting my eyes. I slowly got up causing all of the girls to stop their conversations and watch me. I started walking down the stairs to get a better look. “Where are you going dummy?” Michelle asked. I ignored her and just about everything else around me. It really was him and I couldn’t believe it. It was like I was in a dream. I stood there and watched him for a while as he ran around and laughed like a kid as he played. I bit my lip some rubbing my arm as I kept watching unable to look away. What a kid I thought to myself as I smiled. I glanced back to my friends up the stairs and Michelle held up a hand that meant, what the hell are you doing. I laughed and shook my head as I looked back. I searched my mind for his name, even though if I knew it I probably wouldn’t have even called him over. It had only been minutes for everyone else, but to me it felt way longer just watching him.

He yelled as the ball went to far over the net rolling over and stopping at my feet. I widened my eyes some and looked down at it, stuck in that moment between my daydream and reality again. “Uh..” I said out loud as I picked it up looking up at him wiping his face with his t-shirt as he came in my direction. I froze, first impression.. I can’t mess this one up.
