I walked as slowly as possible as I could over them, hoping that my intoxication wasn’t as noticeable as I felt it was. Michelle called after me but I’m sure she knew that at this point I had my mind set on going to talk to them. Phil looked up first smiling before Bruno did. He slowly moved his drink from his lips as he stared at me causing me to smile bigger than I should have.

“Hey guys,” I said observing Bruno the most as I crossed my arms. “Diamond,” Bruno simply said shaking his head some, “Hey you look beautiful.” He stepped towards me holding his drink down as used one arm to hug me. I uncrossed my arms and just about fell into the hug with him. I closed my eyes tight and pushed my nose against his shoulder, his smell filling my nose. I took a step back and swallowed some, “Uh.. What happened?” was all I could ask looking him in the eyes, growing a little bitter as my drunken mind realized just how long we really hadn’t seen each other. He reached up and rubbed his neck, as he looked down some his shoulders slowly shrugging. “You told me not to talk to you anymore. So I gave you your space.” I let out a breath as the moment where I told him what I told him went through my mind. I put a hand up to my face as I felt myself beginning to get emotional; my weight shifting to one side as my unbalanced body stumbled some.

I moved my hand once I felt his arms around me again, “Hey. Why don’t you sit down?” he whispered gently by my ear. I nodded and his hand slid down to my lower back as he helped me over to a table. He pulled a chair out and watched me closely as I held onto it to sit down. I pulled down my dress as he set his drink down, pulling over a chair to sit directly in front of me.

“I’ve never seen you this drunk before,” he said after a few moments causing me to look up to him. I nodded some, “I know.. And I wasn’t expecting to see you here while I was like this so cut me some slack ok?” He nodded some as his big eyes scanning over every part of me, “I’m not judging you or anything, just a little worried.” I scoffed some as I turned my head away from him, “Worried just like how I was that day you told me that shit,” I said roughly feeling my emotions get the best of me.

I hated him but I loved, it was such the weirdest feeling to get for a human being. He let out a breath taking off his fedora and pushing his messy hair back before putting it back on. “I’m sorry,” he said honestly. “I got away from all of that, I’m done with it all,” he said looking at me seriously. I stared off at him, he was so nicely dressed and I couldn’t get past his eyes. I closed mine as I licked my lips, my head starting to get dizzy.

“Diamond..” he said softly before I felt him grab my hand. “I wanna start over.” I opened my eyes slowly looking down at our hands; I couldn’t believe the words I was hearing. It was the words that my heart had wanted to hear, from that voice that seemed to make everything feel like it was ok. I nodded as I finally let the tears fall. He got up slowly and wrapped his arms around me again, “I know.. I’m so dumb.. I’m so dumb I’m sorry.” I slowly put my arms around him grabbing onto his blazer. His kissed my forehead as he let me go, “Let me go get you some water and napkins ok?” I nodded again wiping my cheeks with the back of my hands. I stared off at all of the people on the dance floor, the happy couples and smiling people. I couldn’t help but smile, sometimes I loved seeing other people happy almost more than I did for myself.

I slowly got up pulling my dress down as I walked over to the dance floor, I closed my eyes and started to dance by myself, letting the music take control of me just as I did the first night at the club with Bruno. The only difference was more alcohol. I wanted more than anything to feel him come behind and take even more control of my body.

I bit my lip as I felt arms starting to inch their way around my waist, I kept my eyes closed as I lean my head back onto his shoulder, continuing my dancing. I slowly grabbed onto his hands before I quickly let them turning around in his grip. I blinked slowly at another man as he smiled at me, “What’s up sweetheart, wanna give me a dance?” I shook my head some as I tried to pull his arms from around me but he didn’t budge. I knew he was quite older than me, and I felt myself beginning to panic. “Please let me go,” I said still pulling his arms away keeping my eyes away from his.

“What are you going to do if I don’t?” I slowly looked up to him, “What do you mean?” He turned me around and pulled me closer to him again, making me let out a whimper as my body hit his. I closed my eyes as I felt his breath on my ear, “Now.. dance.”
