It hadn't been two weeks and the college student was already behind on her schoolwork. It had nothing to do with moving though, that she convinced herself with because she wasn't much different from all the other students when it came to yearlong projects and essays. She'd also been going around for another job but still had no luck. She couldn't imagine ever getting through her exams if she had to handle two jobs but there was nothing else she could do. There would be no point if she couldn't afford to keep herself in school, yet some of her peers said there would be no point in exhausting herself if she didn't get high enough grades in the first place. Mami heard the soft click of Rina hanging up the phone and set her phone down.

"She calls just to make sure you're doing your work? What a hardass," Tomomi scoffed nearby. She went through the cupboards noisily and she searched for what she was looking for.

"She's not a hardass," Mami sighed. "She's just worried cause my finals are coming."

"She's gonna make you even more stressed," the girl stated. The kettle whistled just as she found the packet of powder and she grabbed a cup to fill with hot water.

"Yeah, and you make me very tempted to drop everything so it's a good balance," Mami said. Tomomi laughed and headed back to where the new desk was, placing the steaming cup of hot chocolate beside the girl.

"You don't have eggs but you have hot chocolate and whipped cream? I'm impressed Tomo, thank you." The college student smiled and sipped it slowly.

"What else is there to live for, right? Anyway, I have to go now so," Tomomi pulled on the overcoat and zipped her heels on, "have fun studying. Nite, Mami."

Mami waved her off. "G'nite, Tomo."

Once outside, the girl quickly ignited the lighter and took a drag from her cigarette. She inhaled deeply until she couldn't hold any more and blew out the toxic. She had to admit that Mami moving in meant she couldn't be as free with her indulgences, not that the other girl had never experienced them. In fact, she had gotten addicted. It cost nothing for Tomomi to simply step outside for a smoke.

The street was pitch black until she walked further down the sidewalk and saw the streetlights illuminating closed stores. Neon signs flashed around her as she took the same route, passing by a gas station and the alley beside it, ignoring the eyes from some guys. It didn't matter if she didn't have any money or her phone on her, she still sped up until she got inside the club through the back door. She greeted the girls and hung her coat, stretching her body as she walked.

"You got a minute, sweet thing?"

Tomomi internally shuddered at the voice but she would never show it. Her face grew darker when she was confronted with her boss, who was holding a scanty school uniform.

"Your special tonight," he said with a smirk. She wanted to smack it right off of him. "About the offer, why don't you hear more of the details before cutting me off, ey?"

"I don't want your offer. What part of that do you not understand," Tomomi growled and snatched the uniform from him.

"I just don't understand why you would pass that amount off. Everyone knows you've been doing quite a bit of private rooms recently-"

"Fuck off. If you lose me you lose half your income," the redhead put the top and skirt on over her undergarments roughly, shaking her hair out. "I don't want it."

"Don't get so cocky. You'll come for it one day, I know you will," the man seethed. Tomomi started turning away. "Oh, and bartenders' wage is upped 20% starting now."
