episode twelve
romana tula pierce, joined glee club mainly as a favour for herself. everything she had done until that moment was for the benefit of a stranger, but that stranger was not really a stranger. that stranger was who she had been told to be, she always had to be happy or positive and put together or she'd be judged. so her happiness began to fade, and anxiety rose. she'd keep a smile on her face, but it was most of the time a fake smile. a mask of sorts, unless she was dancing or singing then it was real.
after a bad anxiety attack one day she stumbled upon a room that no one used in the halls of mckinley. the dance studio, it was soon her safe place. after a anxiety or panic attack she'd find herself in the room, and she loved how easy and relaxed she felt when there.
one day as she danced around the room and sang she got so caught up in the song she didn't notice two figures in the doorway. one of the figures belonging to mr schuester, the shit spanish teacher who restarted the glee club to relieve his glory days and to inspire all in the halls of mckinley.
the other belonging to mike chang jr. a football player in the same grade that kept to himself and his small group of friends. upon his creepy watching her over the next few days he noticed the version he was seeing in the halls wasn't who he saw in the dance studio. this version was utterly fake, but no one cared to notice. however, he took it upon himself to change that.
slowly interacting with her more, getting to know her. joining the glee club so one he could dance and two grow closer to the blonde that intrigued him so much.
the two soon formed a close friendship, and she began to open up more to himself aswell as his best friend matt. he learned she felt the need to be happy all the time to stop from worrying her loved ones, and to stop drowning in her thoughts. some darker than the others.
she explained how she was always sceptical about forming close relationships wether that be friendship-wise or romantically. all because some who she had met used her, for money and others fame and some popularity. she explained most boys tried to use her in a sexual manner, so she was hesitant on trusting anyone in reality.
she was more so untrusting becuase she never knew people's true intention. did they just want to be her friend because she has a big online following (684k followers on instagram), the following is from her work in the film and television industry. she had played the part of 'sydney tanner' in one tree hill, her character was a part of the brooke davis fostering storyline. that part came out earlier in the year [2009], and she gained tons of attraction and attention. she had also had a few other roles in tv shows like the fosters, a show called modern family which was currently being realised. and a few films, some still on their way out of the land of film.
