Sun and Shadow

Chapter 7

It was finally time for the Exams. Naruto and Shikamaru  headed up to the 3rd floor ignoring the idiots who thought the second floor was the third, a basic trick like that shouldn't even be considered genjutsu. Naruto pulled the door to be led into a room filled with ninja, he and Shikamaru quickly analysed the room before heading to were their friends and team were. The Sand siblings soon came over and began talking to the duo.

"Who are these creeps?" Ino said with a look of disgust. Temari was going to say something but Naruto stopped her.

"Don't bother Temari it's a brick wall," 

"It's those Sand shinobi from couple days ago," Sakura pointed her finger accusingly. Kankuro tilted his head a smirk forming on his lips.

"Should I break that," Kankuro asked innocently, Sakura gulped and retreated her finger. "Good girl,"

Some footsteps could be heard and a tall boy with silver hair and glasses approached them. "Keep it down, these are the Chunin Exams not some school field trip," Naruto and Shikamaru looked at each other before laughing.

"Listen tell your snake Master we know what he plans to do," Shikamaru walked closer to the boy. "Be warned we'll kill him in the forest,"

The boy looked shocked at the suggestion, he took a step back when he saw Naruto's eyes. That piercing blue with a insane gleam. "Now, now Kabuto take it easy,"

"How do you know my name?" He asked pushing up his glasses. Naruto shook his head and sighed.

"Ninja info cards," He pulled out Kabuto's stack showing one card specific card of Kabuto's bio. "Here," Naruto gave him the pack back. Kabuto took it with shaky hands before Ibiki Morino ame and called for the Exam begin. 

"Shut the hell up and take a number and find yourself to the seat assigned with that number," He roared. As soon as everyone was seated Naruto established a mind link with his teammates and Shikamaru. 

'Everybody hearing,' Naruto asked, answers flowed indicating that they indeed had a strong connect. After Ibiki explained the Exam Naruto and Shikamaru started fueling the answers. They wrote diligently ignoring some looks they got from other Genin. When they were finished the link was broken. 

Naruto wasn't finished though, he established a connect with the Sand siblings and Shino.

'Don't react, just listen,' Naruto said and proceeded to feed them the answers.

When the Exam was nearing to a close a series of Genin were eliminated for cheating. They were just plain sloppy. Naruto and Shikamaru knew the purpose of the Exam was to cheat but why cheat when you knew the answers, plus it was tiring. No thank you.

A kunai came through the the window smashing it to bits and a woman came untangled from a banner that read 'Sexy and Single Anko!' Naruto turned in his seat and continued sleeping. Anko sailed a kunai at him but a black tentacle deflected it. It was Shikamaru's shadow. She grinned at the gesture. 

"Come kiddies to the forest of death," She said and headed back out the window.

Naruto used a chakra tail and wrapped it around Kabuto's leg to stop him from leaving once it was him, Shikamaru and Kabuto he got up and attacked Kabuto with the Uzumaki Chains binding him and drained his chakra. The door opened again to reveal Hiruzen and several Anbu.

"Jiji-san, your student is here, as you can see." Naruto smirked as the Anbu detained Kabuto. He turned to Hiruzen with a creepy smile. "What shall we do,"

"Nothing for now, The Kazekage has admitted that Orochimaru is here for someone specific, Sasuke Uchiha." Hiruzen said gravely. "If Orochimaru gets to plant a seal on him, I want you to remove it as soon as you see the symtoms, I don't care where just do it,"

"And the snake bastard?" Shikamaru asked. 

"Leave that to me," Hiruzen smiled. "Now run along,"

The duo vanished and a person stepped out from the shadows. "He's certainly grown since he was a baby," Jiraiya said fondly as he wrote something down in a book. "I'll deal with Orochimaru then say Hi to Godson,"

"Jiraiya," Hiruzen called as the Toad Sage stood in the window frame. "I'd like to discuss something else when your finish with Orochimaru,"

"Sure will," Jiraiya gave his smile and vanished.
