"You are safe now."
Whimpering, Jimin curled up against the old tree trunk even more.
"It's okay. You're safe now…", the deep voice rumbled once again, this time a bit gentler yet impatient.
The omega sniffled, trying to calm himself down. But how was he supposed to do that when a lifeless body was lying right beside him?!
A hand gripped his arm, the coldness of it making Jimin flinch as he felt the chills travelling from his upper arm, where his shirt had been ripped at places.
"Please d-don't kill me! Please I won't tell anyone about you!", he gasped and begged, pressing himself against the tree, as if it would somehow save him.
"If I had to kill you, then I wouldn't have saved you in the first place!", the boy in front of him growled and jerked at his hand, making Jimin face him forcefully.
"YOU'RE A NORTHERNER!", the omega shrieked. "How am I s-supposed to t-trust you…?", his voice went small as guilt tugged at his heart.
This person had just saved him! No matter who he was or which Kingdom he belonged to, this vampire… this Northerner had saved his life.
"Right.", the vampire stood up.With a cold, stoic expression, he stepped back. "I forgot that Southerners don't even have any values."
And with that, he was about to turn around and most probably sprint out of the place, before Jimin's conscience forced him to stop the other.
"W-wait!"
"Why are you here…?"
-------
"Do you think your cousin will be able to find a place for me in the royal army?"
Jimin nodded at Taehyung's anxious query as he placed the two plates of homemade food in front of the vampire and his sister.
"Thank you for the food, Jimin.", Jennie bowed to the omega and climbed up the stairs of the house that Jimin had found for the twins after two weeks of hectic searching.
The Alpha had always been more silent, more secretive than her brother. Though Jimin knew she wasn't cold. Taehyung says that as well.
Jimin understands though. The things she had seen in front of her eyes at such a tender age! Jimin was an orphan too, but the pain of witnessing your parent's death was completely unimaginable for him.
"Are you sure..?", Taehyung brought him out of his thoughts as he looked at the vampire and found his food completely untouched.
Jimin sighed.
"Taehyung…", taking a seat in front of the younger, he cautiously took the other's hand and gave him a soft, assuring smile.
The cold touch didn't make him flinch anymore. It had become a touch of safety, instead. A sign of faith and dependence.
"You are a born warrior. Of course they will keep you! You just… have to be a bit more careful about hiding your identity. Try to have some control over your emotions first, I believe Jennie will be able to take care of the other things."
Taehyung's expression told him that his words were not completely able to convince the vampire.
So Jimin did what his mind thought was a good idea to distract the younger.
"Hoseok hyung said today that Elder Prince is reaching excellence in sword fighting nowadays."
And Jimin's trick worked even better than Jennie's magic.
