" You alright there man? You seem so blown away by something or someone..? ", Jordan asked while driving. I was busy looking out the window, admiring the stars shining brightly in the dark sky.
A cluster of stars reminded me of Lia's sparkling dress. It's totally worth stargazing. I came back to reality, then replied,
" Y-Yeah! I'm fine haha! But erm.. thanks for giving me a ride yeah! It's been raining kinda heavily nowadays... ".
" Yeah... You're welcome bro. It's extremely really chaotic with all this rain.. Rainy season must be approaching. ".
" Yeah... ".
" I'll quickly drive you back so that you can get a nice warm shower. You're quite soaked! What the heck were you doing anyways haha! ".
" Oh! Erm.... by the the time I wanted to leave, it then started to rain. So, I had to dash to Lia's place for shelter since her place was the closest. ".
And then, there was this awkward silence between us. Usually we'll be chatting non-stop about our lives or how our day was. But, it felt like Jordan was keeping something from me. It really felt like it. It gave me the thoughts or concerns that something must be bothering him really badly.
Or maybe there was something or even someone that he doesn't like and that particular person was always hanging out with me... Maybe that could be the reason?
I wondered... if he probably didn't like me hanging out with Lia. I finally decided to ask him,
" Hey... I wanted to ask you something? ".
" Sure! What's up? ".
" Ermm... how do you feel about Lia? Like what do you think about her? ".
Jordan suddenly braked the car in the middle of the road, sending our bodies to be forcefully pushed forwards since he was driving at a slightly fast speed. I hit my head at the side of the window.
" Ouch! Dude! You alright?! ", I asked while rubbing my head to ease the pain.
I looked over at Jordan, he looked shocked and surprised. But then, when he replied, the way he replied seemed totally off.
" Lia? S-She's a cool gal that's all! ".
He replied in such a calm and relief tone.
" Oh... then why did you brake the car all of a sudden? Arghh! ".
My head started to hurt, I touched my head and noticed blood on my hand.
I felt upset that Jordan wasn't telling me the absolute truth, it was so obvious. Jordan then said,
" Hold on yeah! Lemme go get the first aid from the trunk! ".
As he was about to step out, I grabbed his arm and said with a serious tone,
" No! D-Don't! Just send me back! I can manage.. ".
" But your head is bleeding man! ".
" Haish.. it's still raining. Don't risk yourself just because of me... Just send me back please.. ".
Jordan finally agreed, then continued to drive back to my place. And yes, it was completely silent. The radio didn't help to ease the tension. Once we reached the entrance of my apartment, I said thanks to Jordan in a cold tone.
As I started to walk away, I heard a voice from behind.
" I'm sorry Chris! ".
I turned around, Jordan wind down his window. I even felt more upset at him. I then shouted at him,
