Chapter 29

6 months later

I grab the ice cream out of the freezer and go sit on the couch. I turn on Criminal Minds and start to eat my ice cream. Today would have been mine and Chandler's 8 months together.

It's been 6 months since he left me standing alone in the rain at the funeral. I know he's moved on, but it still hurts me everyday. I just can't get him out of my mind. I've tried dating apps, blind dates, anything to stop me from thinking about him, but nothing worked, until a few weeks ago.

I did find a guy who likes me. His name is Josh, and we have been dating for a few weeks now, and he makes me really happy. I still think about Chandler, but I'm doing my best to move on. He obviously never cared about me, so it's clear I need to move on.

I moved out of Ariana's apartment two months ago and got my own. She was very supportive over the whole Chandler situation. Everyone was, which made me happy. I've been seeing a therapist about once a week and that's been helping big time.

A knock on my door breaks me from my thoughts and I go to answer it. When I open the door, Lanii, Ariana, and Rose are standing with huge smiles on their faces.

I met Rose at the Café downtown where I have been working. She has been such an amazing friend and she is the one who set me up with Josh. We started to talk on our lunch breaks and became super close since then.

"You look like shit." Lanii says.

Rose slaps her shoulder and laughs.

"Lanii really?" Rose says.

"Well she's not wrong." Ariana says and I roll my eyes.

"Wow what friends you are." I say.

I let them in and we all walk into the living room. I go back to eating ice cream and watching my show. Lanii grabs the ice cream out of my hands and Rose turns off the T.V.

"No! Spencer was all wet from jumping in the water! He looked sexy!" I say and they laugh.

"You can fantasize about Spencer Reid later, tonight we are going out!" Lanii says and I roll my eyes.

"Come on Mary, you haven't been out in months!" Rose says.

"Well because last time I did, I got kidnapped by my ex boyfriend." I say.

"Touché." Rose says and we all laugh.

"No but come on Mary. We will have fun. You can even invite Josh!" Ariana says and I sigh.

"Fine. But if I get kidnapped again, I will kill all of you. Don't forget that I do know how to use a gun." I say and the all cheer.

"Yay! We can get drunk!" Lanii says and I laugh.

"Let's fuck it up!" I say.

Once we arrive at the club, I meet Josh at his car.

"Hey beautiful." he says and I smile.

He wraps his arm around me and we walk in. Josh knows the bouncer, so we get let in for free. We all go over to the bar and order drinks.

"I'm so ready to get fucked up!" Rose says and I laugh.

"Me too!" I say.

We drink and dance for a majority of the night, forgetting all of our problems. Tonight I had so much fun and I'm glad I got to let loose.

"I'll be right back princess, I got to use the bathroom." Josh says and I nod.

Hearing him call me princess made my heart hurt. I only like when Chandler calls me it, not anyone else. I really do miss him.
