"Be ashamed to die until you have won some victory for humanity.
Horace Mann

Don't give up,
don't give in,
the battle is not over,
strength is without and within.

O — how
we long
to always
be on
the winning side,
but nobody
wins without a loss;
sacrifice is the grand equalizer.

We do not wish to sacrifice,
yet we wish
to be successful
in our endeavors.

Such a thing leads only to greater pain,
greater suffering.
The thing about sacrifice, though,
is that what had been given up,
may return with time,
but the curse of wanting without sacrifice,
often leads to not being able to gain back
that which has been lost.

So
take
those
risks;
don't delay what may be gained once more;
rewards will always be reaped,
but the best ones are the ones you don't expect.

Take those risks for others
so that you may better everything,
and better yourself,
because in the end,
it is better to have tried and failed,
than to have
never tried
at all
