Words are complicated.
We say,
"I'm sorry,"
when we mean it
and
"I'm sorry,"
when we don't.
Feelings are complicated.
We say,
"I love you,"
when we don't
and
"I hate you,"
when we do.
We are complicated,
We say,
"I'm fine,"
when we aren't
and
"I'm fine,"
when we indeed aren't.
The human mind
turns sincere expressions into unpleasant noise,
turns genuine feelings into a cruel hoax,
and convinces people to yield to their own lies.
